Thank you for the kind and thoughtful response. The basic gist I get is you (and science) lack proof of reproductive evolution, yet you believe (and science theorizes) it happened. I lack proof (scientific, as I required of you) of a loving God but I still believe He exists. So, we (and everyone else on earth) all have faith in something. Yours is in science, mine in God and his son Jesus.
You have not been condescending in your discussion, and I appreciate that. All too often, however, those who argue your position do so from a stance of intellectual superiority because they have "Science!" and all we unenlightened dullards have is faith. Truth is, we all just have faith.
I apologize to you for those on here who are guilty of what far too often happens on my side - arguing from a stance of moral superiority. I'm just an old sinner saved by grace. My hope is someday you will be, too. Realizing you already have faith might be a first step.

Thanks, AV. Today has been an interesting and enjoyable one on this board. If we can all have respect for each other that is usually the result.
No apology necessary. I understand the passions that these topics bring about and as we all know emotions can bring about different sides of us. I can guarantee you that I have been guilty of harsh treatment of believers in the past. Over the years I have arrived at the point where I do not apologize for questioning an idea as any idea demands that. I even will criticize ideas that I believe are causing harm. However, I have learned to separate the idea from the purveyor of the idea as humans are more than our beliefs and we all deserve basic respect.
I don't think I have what you call faith. I honestly don't believe everything I read, but need to see and understand the proof. I view faith as the ability to have a belief without definitive proof. Please don't read that as any kind of denigration of faith, but only as I see it. Being technically trained I often find it hard to grasp the theoretical. I'm reading Stephen Hawking now and am doing so at an abysmally slow rate.
Ultimately, we're alive for such a short blip that it doesn't make sense fighting over beliefs when we could be agreeing on what an abomination Bama is.
