Friday weigh in thread (suns out guns out challenge 8/31/2025)

Alright, checking in here.

6'2" graduated Parris Island at 195 and that is about as skinny as I honestly think I can get. I lost a lot of muscle mass but was still a 46" coat and a 34" waist.

Never been a great runner but ran a marathon within a year of PI in just under 4 hours at 200. I'd like to get down to ~210 which is where I was for most of my time in the Marines and was in pretty good shape.

However, I got out of the Marines almost 5 years ago now and it's caught up to me. I've definitely lost muscle mass and put on fat weight and gotten to ~250ish now. I'd like to get down to somewhere in the 200-210 range.

Any suggestions? Running isn't a great option as my knees are pretty shot and I'd like to have use of them in 20 years.

Current diet:

Breakfast: fruit (though they're strawberries/grapes) and water
Lunch: Low sodium canned soup (usually don't have a lot of time) and water
Dinner: lean meat (turkey, fish, trimmed chicken) and a vegetable and glass of wine

During the day I'm drinking a lot of water and have gotten into taking 3 fish oil tablets. I usually go through at least 1, if not 2, pitchers of a standard Brita. I'll try to get in a 5 min walk every hour while at work to avoid getting sedentary.

Would you apple cider vinegar folks reccomend diluting some vinegar in the water? I hadn't heard of that before, but through a webmd article, it seems to somewhat check out.

80% of the battle is what you eat.

Yeah, that's what got me into problems. While I was in I had an atrocious diet but was running probably 20 miles a week and my job while in usually kept me really active.

I cut the bad diet but over the last 5 years just 100 calories a day I didn't need would really add up.

I'm not looking for a crash diet, I'm fine losing ~3lbs a week.

At my heaviest I was 255. Worked out a bunch and got to 235. P90x got me to 200. Stopped p90x and went back to 230ish. Now I work out 2-3 times a week but but make better diet choices and the weight comes off. It's easier to eat right than work out 15 hrs a week. Imo

Why you guys trying to lose weight? It's all about the gain baby. Get big or die trying. Guys stop running it breaks down muscle tissue. Pick up that iron!

Today I will do the things that other people won't, so tomorrow I can do the things that other people can't

i am 6.2 and 229lbs.
Goal is 195.
I'm +34.

the way i see it everyone can post this way without giving away their weight.

209.5.

169. 9 lbs in 10 days. Going for 3 more then back to a refined normal regimen. I miss my crappy food a little.
Scary thing is I tried to drink the first beer since I started the new regimen last Monday and I didn't drink half of it. Surely it didn't change my taste buds. Scary because I usually put down 4-8 while playing golf and can't get 1 down right now.
