I just started "running". I'll never be a "runner", but I started the c25k (again, third time).
This time is different. I think of it in terms of making progress - however slow it happens. I have a lot more patience with things now, which I think is a by-product of actually changing my lifestyle maybe? Like, I'm not a failure if I can't run for x amount of time/distance. I'm a failure if I start something and don't give myself time to finish it (like weight loss).
What I seem to struggle with the most is just plain over-thinking things. Like breathing, trying to figure out how I'm supposed to breathe (I know that's stupid). Also trying to pick the "perfect speed" on the treadmill. And worst of all, thinking that breathing hard means I'm doing something wrong. I don't know why that gets in my way so much. I breathed hard all the time doing crossfit, so I sucked in more air. I think, for me, it has something to do with the "rhythm" of running. And everything should be perfectly rhythmic. It also doesn't help that my husband just decided to get on the treadmill one day and run. He warms up, but then he just picks a speed and runs. Doesn't listen to music or anything. Pisses me off a little. lol
