Friday weigh in thread (suns out guns out challenge 8/31/2025)

I know im a little late to the party but here's my deal....Started out a chunky 217 (6 feet even..). Started running, got down to 159... Got lazy and immediately the weight started coming back.... I'm currently at 184 and target weight is 165 so I guess my baseline is now +19. Will check back in Friday and every Friday hereafter.

Welcome to the accountability thread.

That's my favorite form of motivation. Once you announce you're going to do something, you have to do it.

Roger that.... I'm running in a half marathon next month and am on video as saying I'll break 2 hours... My friend who filmed me saying that has sent it to me once a week for a couple of months now. If I dont do it I'll never hear the end of it...

I'm nervous. How do you go about checking your fat tri? I have probably been building a bit of mass, as I just started back to working out.

I worked a lot of cardio in after my workouts this week, so I'm hoping I lost another couple pounds or so.

I have a pair of calipers. They are fairly accurate. Don't think they are too expensive at GNC. I have a scale that measures body fat but warns that it is inaccurate with pregnant women and athletic people. So that is stupid. If you belong to a gym, they might have free checks.

187, would love to get to 190. Just finished the first 30 days of P90X 2. Start the "Strength" phase for 30 days on Sunday.

Via electrical current. At a gym the measure how fast an electrical current runs through you. They can calculate the speed based upon you weight and give you a percentage. The electricity flows at a different rate through fat vs. muscle.

The scale does the same thing. My scale was $30 at Target. So its parameters are really broad. Hence it doesn't work for people who are in shape and have a low body fat. It tells me that my bodyfat is 25%. There are accurate bodyfat scales but they cost $200-500. I'll stick with my calipers.

+ 17. Moving in the right direction.... I have one of the higher end scales that was given to me as a gift and it seems fairly accurate. I had the caliper measurement done and checked it against the scale. Dead on.
