I think being a dumbass would be thinking their hold outs would make a 70-point difference. Also UGA had roughly 20 players who didn’t play either.Don't be a dumbass. That is NOT the same team that competed all year. With all the holdouts, Hell it's not even the same team that beat Louisville a couple of weeks ago. Not to mention the fact that any motivation of playing this game is completely non existent! They deserved to be in the playoffs, period end of sentence!
You are comparing a full strength team to a team with all of its stars opting out...........this isnt hardWe’re all wondering what “this” is. Georgia’s third string beat FSU 21-0. How much data do you need to realize FSU wasn’t going to compete regardless of the opt outs? They just aren’t very good. Sorry.

The playoff committee stated that FSU’s qb being injured was the major factor in why they were not selected for the playoff. Not sure what you heard.I'm not sure if the ncaa realizes what's going on, but by excluding florida state from the playoff, in the setting of all the new nil and transfer rules, they basically told every player who's not in the big ten or or sec that they need to gtfo of dodge now. And I don't believe fsu was one of the best 4 teams by any stretch, but by coming out and saying "your qb getting hurt had nothing to do with it," they actually hurt themselves much more.
The opt outs were already bad. It's gonna get much, much worse now. They basically said some teams matter, some dont. The 12 team playoff is going to autocorrect for some of that, but not all.

If they were so badly done wrong, why would they not want to prove the point by beating UGA?Not trying to take any side on the matter, but you’re aware how many opt outs from the transfer portal, the draft, and injuries FSU has on both sides of the ball right? UGA’s pretty much playing against 3rd string and walkons.
It comes down to backing up your mouth with action.I generally appreciate your opinions, but this is disingenuous. FSU's starting qb got hurt (which we all know), and both teams have had a ton of transfers (including FSU's backup qb). As for healthy players who opted for the draft, Florida state had 9. Georgia had 0, unless you want to include bowers.
I don't disagree that Georgia would have rolled them either way, but acting like this games lends credence to anything is odd.
That quote isn't about why they were left out of the final college football playoff. It's from earlier in the season when Washington passed FSU and put them at #4. That article is dated Nov 21st. The playoff selection was Dec 3rd I think. The committee chairman's exact quote was “It didn’t have any impact,”
Here's the article from on3

That being said, even if the committee had said "yo, the qb being out mattered a ton and therefore we left them out", I'm still not sure that matters. They let cardale jones in as a third string qb and he went on to win the national championship.
I find it hard to believe if the same thing had happened to Georgia or bama, or Michigan or Ohio state, the outcome would have been the same.
“It didn’t have any impact,” Corrigan said. “As we’re watching the game, Florida State starts off down 13. (Tate) Rodemaker comes into the game, they score 58 consecutive points. They’ve got a lot of dudes on the field, Rece. They’ve got a lot of guys who can play. As we’re looking at it, that’s where we are this week. Again, anything beyond that is going to be projecting.”
“That’s what the next couple weeks are going to be about, is continuing to watch Florida State,” Corrigan said. “Watch how they do. They’ve got a couple of tough games against Florida down in the Swamp and the ACC championship. We’ve got two more evaluation points that are going to come in the next two weeks.”
Irrelevant. That’s not the issue. Even when fully healthy they stood no chance against UGA. That has nothing to do with it. Like I have said, FSU earned the right to be in the playoffs by what they did in the season.BOT, you are much better than this. FSU had a chance to "prove everyone wrong"...but what did they do? Nothing.
