FSU

Same thing happened to us last year resulting in bama ranked ahead of us even though we beat them. So crazy you are surprised.
I wasn't surprised at all they left out FSU. The committee foreshadowed the possibility of FSU being left out earlier that week when they said their job is to pick the 4 best teams, not the 4 most deserving.

Irrelevant. That’s not the issue. Even when fully healthy they stood no chance against UGA. That has nothing to do with it. Like I have said, FSU earned the right to be in the playoffs by what they did in the season.

Remember 2016? Washington won the P12 and had a 12-1 record heading into the playoffs. They got smacked by Bama. Does that mean they didn’t deserve to be there? No.

2019. LSU destroys Oklahoma 63-28 in the first round. Did that prove OU didn’t deserve to be there? No. In 2011 the Packers were 15-1 and lost the divisional round to a 9-7 Giants. Does that mean Green Bay didn’t deserve to be there? No. There are tons more examples. It’s sad that you and others can’t see the flawed logic in your thinking.
No. 63-3 says it all.

Kirby said a lot, but didn’t say it all. Travis was their offense this year. Their defense was deficient due to their op outs, but the offense was completely carried by their quarterback. The outcome might have been decided by an additional 17 point differential, but Florida St was clearly outmatched. If the quarterback was healthy, this game would not have happened. But those players chose not to play, and program culture does matter. Ole Piss got their players to buy in, Georgia did, etc. Georgia was the better team today, and it showed. End of discussion.

Georgia had 20+ enter the transfer portal and were missing Brock Bowers as well. Yet Georgia had a tougher time beating FCS opponents than this FSU team.

You can make the argument that FSU would have fared better without their star players opting out. But only 9 players declared for the draft. All the other opt outs are cancelled out by Georgia's opt outs too. Also you can say both teams are missing their top receiving target (Brock Bowers vs Keon Coleman)

Both teams face the same circumstances, but Georgia is steamrolling FSU right now. Kirby was able to convince his players to suit up. So I don't want to hear from FSU fans and defenders who say this gane doesn't matter. It mattered to UGA and their players. If it didn't matter they wouldn't respond anyways. But it does matter, its just FSU has been doing damage control the last few weeks.
What are your thoughts on where their ranking will be in the final standings?

I’m sure the winner and loser of CG will be #1 and #2 but, with this showing, will Georgia be #2?

It depends on how things play out, but don't really see a scenario they get any higher than #3. But I think its more likely than not that they jump the semi final losers.

I don't think it will happen, but the only chance I see Georgia getting a bump to #2 is if Bama wins the whole thing and does so in dominating fashion.

Don't be a dumbass. That is NOT the same team that competed all year. With all the holdouts, Hell it's not even the same team that beat Louisville a couple of weeks ago. Not to mention the fact that any motivation of playing this game is completely non existent! They deserved to be in the playoffs, period end of sentence!

BS BS BS

Typical FSU, rather run your mouth on how good you are rather than going into the game full force and being competitive. Your audience on how great you are and how you deserve to be in would be much larger had you "showed" up and competed. Imagine how many would be agree with your narrative this morning if you had beat UGA...........instead you quitters embarrassed your University and if will affect your program for years.
And the issue of staying healthy for the Draft is complete BS also. Check the numbers of how high players go that compete in their Bowls and show their skills. It is much easier to run you mouth that go play. What better way to showcase your skills than playing rather than ranting.
ONE of the few times in my life I was rooting for UGA..................I wanted a 100 rung up on the Losers of FSU!!!

Yep.., if they had, UGA would have been in.
I agree, but the circumstances of the SEC and PAC12 allowed the committee to view those title games as quarterfinals IMO. That may not be the correct way to have done it, but IMO it was the most efficient. This time next year UGA would’ve been hosting a game in Athens. That’s what I’m looking forward to as a college football fan.

I don’t agree with it either. But they basically got told that winning games does’t matter so they decided to stop trying. It’s the worst part of the portal, opt outs and a bad selection process all intersecting.
By the time you are 14 years old, let alone, 18, you need to learn how to accept and move on from disappointment in athletics. It's fundamental to being an athlete.

Dozens of other football teams have been similarly rejected from what they THOUGHT they should have been awarded over the years. But FSU's failure to cope was record setting.

They had massive opt-outs? Only adds to the case against them, IMO. These are not the athletes I want to see in the CFP.

I don’t disagree, but as was said before, winning didn’t matter to the committee and that was the message they sent the FSU players. The system is setup to make money, so I don’t blame the FSU players one bit to make money through the draft or the portal.

This wasn’t about not coping with disappointment. If money is driving the system and winning doesn’t matter to the committee then good for the players for doing the same thing.
