Fulmer 2.0

Agree.. think about this... I think everyone can agree that Dooley was the worse coach in UT history right? But he never lost 8 games, jones just might. And if he does, fire him on the spot.. also wonder what excuses will be made for him if they do lose 8

So every time that someone suggests that CBJ be fired I ask the same question and rarely does anyone answer it.

Who do you think the university could afford to hire if they are stuck paying for another fired coach? Seriously. Where do yout hink the money is going to come from? Your @$$?

Hmmm ... I think I've seen this movie before. Jones appears nothing more than a Fulmer 2.0. As many may remember, Fulmer was so committed to his staff that he rarely fired anybody despite their incompetence. Butch appears to be the same having retained all his cronies from Central Michigan and Cincinatti. Unfortunately for Jones, Bajakian appears to be another Dave Clausen with his predictable and totally unimaginative play calls. I still can't comprehend why Tennessee didn't try to exploit Vanderbilts secondary when ALL FOUR OF THEIR STARTERS were out of the game due to injury or expulsion. The defense with Jancek isn't any better than last year's pathetic group with Sunseri. I hope that Jones will take a hard look at this seasons lack of progress and hire some SEC proven coordinators on both sides of the ball otherwise his time here will be short.

What is wrong with you? Without speed or talent on offense you HAVE to run a fairly vanilla game plan. We don't have the horses to let it rip. Do you really think if coach said, "hey Josh, just sling it around the field" he would be successful? They practice for a reason. Clearly nobody on our offense is capable of the kind of wide open attack you are calling for. Was listening to a radio show today and apparently one of our staff (they wouldn't say who) said in confidence that he would be surprised if this team won THREE games this year. That's how depleted we are.

You gotta admit though. The fact that its 2013 and we are still debating about him says something about the decision to fire him.

It was clearly the correct decision, otherwise we would have ended up like Penn State--a team with a nice guy coach who is basically ineffective (don't forget, Fulmer lost to Vanderbilt at home, Wyoming, and should have lost to Air Force). I do disagree with the way we handled it. We should have had a high profile guy lined up to take his place. That was our biggest mistake.

No Idea.. that's the only problem..

Just imagine what Arkansas is going through. We think we've got it bad lol. They had the money in the bank with Petrino, but he couldn't keep it in his pants lol.

I live over here and they are in bad shape
I live pretty close to Bielema and someone ran over his mailbox last week

and it was about 3-4 feet tall and brick

I seem to be having a problem with this concept of Paterno.

Can the deep pocket boosters behind the program help with that?

yeah, lets fire the coordinators cause none of the recruits committed because of them. They committed because of the fans.

Let me get this straight . The F'ing IDIOTS in Knoxville managed to fire a Hall Of Fame Coach . You went about it the most RETARDED way POSSIBLE . NOW Now YOU want a seat at the Table ?? You fools have lost your ever F'ing MINDS .

DO not lecture me on the Use of Retarded , The Board of Trustees , has already Proven that crap .

The Fulmer nut huggers must go away as well . We are way beyond that .

This. We can't afford to eat another contract and if we could who do you hire? Some bum small college attorney turned coach again? We have an experienced D1 coach who for a change is used to WINNING. Whereas Dooley could have cared less I think, it bothers Jones to lose just as much as it does us.

Well, I think Foolmer, Pearl and the one before him are all paid off now so that should alleviate some money!

152 wins, 5 division titles, 2 conference titles, and a national championship. After having four losing seasons in five years, one can only hope Butch is Fulmer 2.0

Nice diatribe, but who is Dave Clausen?

The money is there for a coach. But, somebody would rather have pretty box seats in the stadium.

Well I'll talk about it. The idea as to why people are mad isn't because of their lack of understanding of where our roster is, they are mad because they see no risk taking past a bone headed fake FG attempt. I don't care if Elmer Fudd was our QB last night, the pass plays we ran where terrible. Through our offensive scheme we have eliminated play action and power sets. The few times we run a FB set it looks like we practiced it one time, leading to the FB blocking worse then a 90 year old Grandma. If you can't get 3rd and two consistently in the SEC you might as well give it up. We can't do anything behind center on offense, and it kills our redzone efficiency. If you can set up the play action then it'll open up the middle of the field to get some big plays. Until then teams are going to pack the middle and stop the run and read option, and when it's 3rd and 5-7 they are going to blitz and cause havoc. We don't make the defenses we play in any way think about our plays because we are so predictable.

You've seen no risk taking except for the fake FG?

Butch may have been able to accomplish this^. If he'd walked into anestablished successful program!
