No they weren't. The got beat 62-37. That's not a choke. It's getting your azz beat badly. After that game, they had no chance at the title.

I am done arguing with the mentally challenged

many would see it as a choke considering we were up 30-14 at one point.

Because I said after the Florida blowout loss, we didn't have a chance at the title? That was fact. So what that we were better than everyone else? We still didn't have a chance to win the national title after that hammering we took in Gainesville. Sorry, but that's not dumb, but 100% right. Sorry if you can't handle the truth

Once again little boy, I forgot more on my worst day than you will ever know on your BEST day.

I am done with it though. Some of you act like the HOF thing is validation of your opinions. That's fine

We're in the Dooley era now. Fulmer is NEVER coming back. I promise you

That was not a fact. It was off-base prognostication. At it's finest, too. You have an impressively inflated opinion of your knowledge that is most likely shared by only you. Funny how that works ain't it? But anyhow, it is quite clear Dooley is the coach. It is also quite clear Fulmer is not coming back. What do those get you? Nothing. You are still a grown man making a child like argument, and losing badly. You should be embarrassed!! Making the Hall of Fame is validation. Along with being a conference and national champion, as well as being in the top 5 in all-time SEC wins, and being voted Coach of the Year, being a first ballot inductee is QUITE validating to a head coach. Except to you, of course. Too bad CPF will never be in the Sand Wedge Hall of Fame, where the grown men are all dummies :p. You should really quit. But if not, I will continue to bust your ass as long as you want it Buddy.

One day you might actually get it. You can get there, but it will take some effort on your part.:)

I never want to be in a place where the grown men can't respect another man's accomplishments. You can stay there alone on Sucker Island. I am fine where I am. Bon Voyage, *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A validation of what? His past record being great. I agree 100%.

You're more than welcome to show up over at my tailgate and tell me what a dummy I am to my face.

Please, though, answer why he got such a loaded program in 1992 and then left it in fractions of how he got it. Surely to God you aren't going to argue that's not a fact, are you little boy? I have been asking that question of you for weeks, yet you won't answer. And no, little boy, I don't have an inflated opinion of myself but I do know for a FACT that I know a helluva a lot more than you

flip side is grown men not being able to recognize failure and apply appropriate blame to the state of UT football the past couple of years.

Does the Fulmer of 1999-2008 make the HOF?

I have stated on many occasions that I respect Fulmer's accomplishments and was glad he was coach here. Please direct your idiotic claims elsewhere.

Going 47-5 over a 5 year stretch would tend to indicate that you were at or near the top every year (i.e. championship). At least to normal humans, which you are obviously not. 2001 was clearly a team on the brink of a title. But carry on. Ignorance must truly be bliss. However you want it, you are losing. The coach you tried to run down just went first ballot on your dumb ass. That should have let you know you were on the wrong track (as I have been trying to do for a year). Guess there ain't no helpin' some folk.

To someone who isn't familiar with our program, 45-5 over 5 years would indicate playing for the NC every year. But, to VN, it is simply fact that we got owned in big games nearly everyone of those 5 years. I was at the 95' Florida game. IT SUCKED (the saying 3rd and Chavis means something to me as it should to all of VN). However, some folks want to just look at the record and not at what into the making of that record. Grieve and Pimp, I don't know if you guys actually have man-love for CPF or if you just like to argue, but his record is basically beating the teams you were supposed to beat, losing to some of the teams you were supposed to trounce, and losing to the teams you were supposed to lose too. Basically that says that we had a TON of talent that didn't always live up to the advertisement.

Anyone of my little boys are smarter than you. And you can't be smart if you are making a stupid argument, in a stupid manner. You are just losing all the way around. I am amused at and by you. Truly. But, the guys are showing up, time for a "smoke" break. I will get back with you in a bit.Toodles.

many would see it as a choke considering we were up 30-14 at one point.

And many more would call it a meltdown as well. I remember it like it was yesterday because I was down there at the game. Florida scored 58 points after being down 30-14. That's not a choke in any informed person's world. It was a total breakdown of the defense. A choke is allowing a team to drive in the last couple of minutes to win the game. A choke is having the ball first and ten in your opponents territory only needing a field goal to win and then throw an interception.

What happened that day was much more than a choke, but clearly indicative of the manner in which Spurrier got right into Fulmer's head and beat him mentally. We had more talent during the 90s. Florida had coaches that were better prepared on our game day. It's that simple

That's your opinion, which BTW, we already know isn't too informed.

I am sorry you have so much work to do. Learning about context would help you a great deal

Call it how you see it.

if they were better prepared how did those well-prepared coaches find themselves down 16pts? Big lead and lose it is a choke by most people's definition. Just because you choose not to define it that way doesn't mean it's automatically correct

58 points after having 14 would be 72. Florida scored 62 (you were there, right)? Math much? This is too easy. I can do this and roll up at the same time :).

That was one of the WORST days at a UT game in my entire life......

It was 30-14 for about 1 minute. Florida closed the gap to 30-21 right before half time. That isn't that big of a lead. Allowing Florida to score so quickly, so often is much more than a choke. It's a meltdown of massive proportions. I am not blaming Phillip as that WAS a perfect storm(his excuse for the 2005 debacle) the manner in which Florida was scoring. We had no answer or adjustments as usual.

Ok, so 48 points. Still the point I am making is the same. Your deflection as if math has anthing to do with the argument makes you look more like the little boy I envision sitting behind the keyboard.

You're getting your ass handed to you with facts and have to change the context to avoid humiliation. Sorry for your trouble

Pimp, it doesn't make a difference. Please don't argue the numbers. Florida took our vaunted defense to the wood shed and beat the living ****e out of it. CPF and CJC made NO adjustments and just kept hoping the bend but don't break (ie let's try not to lose) defense would work. It didn't. Yes were were in contention for the NC that year, but I agree with 2iron that as long as FL kept winning, we didn't have a chance at the title.

Edit: Yes I was there, the scoreboard numbers looked like the digits on a gas pump. It was easy to lose count.

Just because a team finishes #3 in the final polls doesn't mean they were legimate national title contenders when it mattered most, which BTW, describes most of UT's seasons from 1993-2002.

Heck, Georgia finished no. 2 at the end of 2007. That's a great finish, but they were NEVER national title contenders after losing 35-17 to UT

Does the Fulmer of 1999-2008 make the HOF?

I easily recognize failure and apply appropriate blame as well. I have stated that Fulmer could have been fired after 08. It is clear that he lost 52 games. I remember most of them too. Two bad football seasons don't shake me as they do some. It would take more than that to get me off of the Tennesee bandwagon. Maybe, if he was 52-152, with no SEC titles, and he did not win the first Crystal Ball, I then would have a problem with him. But he was not and I don't have a problem with him (there have been scores of worse coaches). -- The Fulmer of 99-08 had already layed a HoF foundation, so yes, he still get's in.
