I am glad you can laugh at the truth. Some say it hurts. You are obviously are not hurt by it. Good job :good!:

The facts are the facts. I was right in my interpretation that Fulmer had an excellent record. His Tennessee career was very good. That is my one and only point. I never care if he gets another job. I actually hope he doesn't. Fade away as a UT legend. Being a UT fan, I can live with that. You (and your ilk) are free to continue to point out the bad things about Fulmer. I am not hurt by that at all. Couldn't possibly be.

My ilk????? LOL..you mean the faction of the fanbase that has a real clue?

I didn't start this thread little boy nor do I want to run down Fulmer. I am not going to put him on a pedestal either. He's not worthy. He was a good coach and did well here for several years. If you want to ignore the last half of it, so be it, but it's the reason we're digging out of a hole right now and that is a FACT. Lets move on

In my recollection of most of those Florida games the Vols scoring points wasn't the issue - stopping Florida was. Samples of Gator wins:
1993 41-34
1995 62-37
1996 35-29
1997 33-20

So if you want to blame Cut cause he couldn't out score Spurrier fine but the Vols inability to slow the Gators down was the real issue.

Yeah, Chaves' prevent defense prevented Tennessee from winning several games!

Move on to what? Football teams go up and down over time. We were never going to stay on top forever. I am not too upset about it. Dooley is going to win his share too. But he wont win them all either. Are we going to do him the same way (fire him in the middle of the year embarrassing our school and setting of another string of bs)? I dont know exactly what you are driving at here. All coaches are good over time. Then they are not. Then they are fired. Fulmer is no different than any of them. Except he is a Vol. So while others trumpet there's, I will proudly trumpet mine. You do as you wish old chap.

fulmer was a good coach, not a great coach. He left UT with millions in buyout cash, but can't find another job.

I think 10,000 should be mine for the "battering" I have taken.

Battering ?

After all the garbage you and Pimp have posted, people have taken it easy on you two!!! lol

You have been a True Fulmerite.
I agree you should have the 10,000th post.

i have thought at times that you are Phil himself, then I realize even he could not agree with you.

It wasn't nearly as bad as people on here are making it out to be. It wasn't great, but certainly not as bad as people claim. The firing of him made it worse, but that was to be expected. However, last year should've been an improvement from 2010 no matter what, and it wasn't. THAT cannot be blamed on Fulmer, like you and others keep doing.

Best estimate....IQ 55....FAIL...you lose your only capable QB...your most dynaminc WR play maker....you have a very average if that RB....you play LSU, BAMA, GA, ARKY in a punishing stretch...yeah with a true FR QB and an anorexic roster....it should have been better no matter what.....DUMB.....go back and play with your dog some more

Now have I ever called your posts garbage? If I was Phil, and read about the lucky NC, soft SEC while he was here, running down the program. I would think he would be surprised and dismayed at all the negativity.

You are correct. Garbage was a bad choice of words. I would think Phil is aware of some negativity. I think he would be shocked at some of the things said about him.
I like to "stir the pot" but I do respect Fulmer and and am proud of him.
He is a big part of the success TN has had.

I was looking at the list of current SEC coaches the other day and if Phil was still coaching here he would be one of the top 5 or 6 coaches in the SEC.

Who said anything about winning those games? I know for certain I didn't. However, being a better squad doesn't always equal more wins. It usually does, but not always. The team played worse, mostly they played with less smarts than 2010. Bray sure as hell didn't look any better, or as good as so many people here think as they kiss his ass. He had one good game, the rest of the time his stats were no better than Simms' the year before against better opponents. THAT is how they played worse. And before you say I'm an idiot with the better squads does not equal more wins comment, the 1995 team was a helluva lot better than the 1998 one, but had more losses.

Does anyone besides me think this is karma for phil turning in bama?? I mean look at our programs since all that went down...just think phil never turns in bama does saban end up there...just late night thoughts going through my head

Or if Mike Price doesn't do Roll Baby Rolll with a couple of strippers from Sammy's he may not be there either

If the oline doesn't come through this year, would fulmer consider coming back as Oline coach next year to turn it around?

Phil should have kept his mouth shut over the Bama/NCAA violations when you consider Phil was having plenty to deal with over his players in trouble constantly with the law. It has always been a sore topic with me that Phil had 3 players Little, Goodrich and Stallworth who all have taken someone life behind the wheel. What other college program can come close to having this same type of curse associated with their university.

aahh the Fulmer Cup

Did he turn Alabama in to stop a pending investigation against him? Also; was Tubberville involved?

It was named the Fulmer Cup because Phil's players in trouble constantly with the law.

We already went over this earlier.

Was Alabama or Tubberville the reason there was a lack of discipline on Phil's teams?

Lack of discipline was a big reason for Fulmers downfall.

As I posted earlier Phil has done a lot for the university and he would be one of the too 5-6 coaches in the SEC today.

I do think he became a complacent coach starting in the early 2000's and that showed on the field. IMO he reached his goal, the NC, and became lax on the job. It was past time for him to be let go. With that said, I do hope someone gives him a shot as HC.
He left the game on a bad note and if given the chance, he can prove he is better than his last 4 years of coaching.

Ha! I have posted nothing remotely close to garbage. Quite the opposite actually. Seen people go to great lengths to discredit one of our own. Took offense to it at first. Now I see it for what is. Still think some of you are Gators in disguise though.
