And what in hell gives with the Fulmer Haters and the idea that they possess some sort of intellectual superiority? That is one thought that continually permeates this thread. That and the personal attacks. Which are based in the same dip**** ideology, so I guess they are really one and the same. Just wondering what is up with that?

Ha! I have posted nothing remotely close to garbage. Quite the opposite actually. Seen people go to great lengths to discredit one of our own. Took offense to it at first. Now I see it for what is. Still think some of you are Gators in disguise though.

You are correct. Garbage was a bad choice of words. I would think Phil is aware of some negativity. I think he would be shocked at some of the things said about him.
I like to "stir the pot" but I do respect Fulmer and and am proud of him.
He is a big part of the success TN has had.

I was looking at the list of current SEC coaches the other day and if Phil was still coaching here he would be one of the top 5 or 6 coaches in the SEC.

You have a bad night Pimp ?

It's a message board. No reason to get so upset.

Just saying that I did not post any garbage related to Fulmers career or record. And I absolutely feel like I am arguing with fans of the other teams. I saw the post you are referring to. What is significant about it?

I give Fulmer credit for what he did for the university. The good and the bad.

He gave us several years of good memories and a NC.
He also got lazy, imo, and let the program go downhill.

I prefer to use the term lazy because if he did not get lazy then he simply could not compete any longer.
I think he could and can still compete if he had the burning desire inside to succeed. IMHO he lost that desire after the 2001season.

You and some of the other Fulmerites act like he gave the University 17 great years. The truth is he did not.
The last few years Fulmers teams could not compete with the upper teir of the SEC, that is fact and showed on the field.

His last 4 years of coaching , his overall record was 29-21and 17-15 in the SEC. That is not getting the job done at the University of Tennessee.

He was known as a great recruiter for several years.
The overall talent remaining on the team after the 2008 season was not SEC caliber, that is fact and showed on the field. Kiffin had to start walkons in 2009.

I do not hate Fulmer. I do think he let his team, the university and the fans down the last few years he coached. I think after being fired and out of coaching for a few years, he could be successful at a major university if given the chance. I was hoping he would be hired by AR. I think he would have done a very good job there and proved that he still is a good coach.

That is exactly how I feel about Coach Fulmer.

coach Fulmer was fired at the exact right time.he's made pretty good money for getting fired also.i liked Fulmer also and if he would've done some things different he would still be here.

It was named the Fulmer Cup because Phil's players in trouble constantly with the law.

We already went over this earlier.

Was Alabama or Tubberville the reason there was a lack of discipline on Phil's teams?

Lack of discipline was a big reason for Fulmers downfall.

As I posted earlier Phil has done a lot for the university and he would be one of the too 5-6 coaches in the SEC today.

I do think he became a complacent coach starting in the early 2000's and that showed on the field. IMO he reached his goal, the NC, and became lax on the job. It was past time for him to be let go. With that said, I do hope someone gives him a shot as HC.
He left the game on a bad note and if given the chance, he can prove he is better than his last 4 years of coaching.

You are misunderstanding the question. I was only asking if he was the only one who turned in Alabama. Was there a fax message showing Tubberville and Spurrier were also involved.

I think both of them and Nutt testified to the Grand Jury

It may be.
I am not sure what went on or exactly what it was about. I didn't keep up with it.
IIRC. there was a subpoena for Fulmer and he didn't go to some kind of SEC meeting in Bama because of it. I am in dark on the situation.

Fulmer had 2 losing seasons in his last 4 years. The team he left Kiffin and Dooley were not loaded with talent. He had been struggling for the first time to recruit. It was time, no question.

Should have let him leave on his own.........he could have turned it around......he was too good a recruiter! But, if the perfect storm at USC would have not happened maybe Kiffen would be winning big here?

^=Garbage.

Pimp just because we don't have an entire room of our homes dedicated as a shrine to a former coach, doesn't mean ANYONE hates him. I challenge you to find a single post where anyone said anything remotely close to hating CPF. We don't profess an intellectual superiority, we just don't have blinders on. You really need to come down off your own dip**** ideology about someone that was let go (rightly so) 3 1/2 years ago. He isn't coming back and if you think he should be back, read the poll on this forum. VN doesn't hate CPF, we just want to move on and get back to winning. Get the CPF chip off your shoulder and quit claiming that everyone HATES CPF. I personally take offense to that since my "hate" is saved for a few people and CPF ain't even close on that list.

I agree with second part that had Kiffen not left he would have turned it around but he wouldn't have been here 5 years regardless. Fulmer would not have turned it around and he would not have retired.
