Yep then you quit your job because someone promised you better hours and more pay and a year later they lay you off. Sitting there you find the best job you can and end up at Mcdonalds. But, instead of admitting you made a mistake and shouldn't have followed the false promises you tell yourself what a great move it was and how smart you are, righttt ... LMFAO

Also Knox you never answered the question.

Should Richt be fired by your standards? YES OR NO.[/QU No-Richt should not be fired and his team this year is far better than Fulmers last two SECCG teams. Now, if it was me, I'd've probably invested and owned the McDonalds franchise because I married the beauty queen with the rich father who always wanted a son like me! -LOL-You gotta admit that was good.

lol pretty good :good!:

I believe both teams are very close to the same. we were ranked 12th in the BCS before the 2007 SECCG.
Not like we were junk. Even if I hated Fulmer I would give that to him. We had problems that year don't get me wrong but a certain QB (who is on the radio now that everyone loves so much) throwing 2 interceptions in the 4th QTR. wasn't Fulmers fault and we lost by 7. LSU went on to play for the NC and was ranked #2 at the end of it all.

Ainge did mess us up that game but over his career he hung in the pocket and delivered. Though no one liked Clausen, he did remind me of Andy Kelly in that with him in the game you knew we had a chance.

Really go look at Ainge vs LSU 2005. Instead of taking a safety he threw it to the defender in front of him and gave them a touchdown. He had great numbers but that was about it. I like Ainge because he's a VFL but he ha d his monents that were like WTF.

Loved Andy he could control a game. We have always had great QB's. Although sometimes I think they put a lot of pressure on themselves and caused them to make bad plays.

While hindsight is 20-20, I blame Cutcliffe for the 2nd one. You just gained 60 yards on a screen, 1st and 10 inside their 20, under 2 mins left with 2 timeouts. Run the ball up the middle. But again, one of those situations where if it works you're a genius, if it doesn't, you should've done something else, to paraphrase Pearl. Also, Lincoln missed multiple field goals.

True .. True:thumbsup:

I think the 98 season erased alot of negativity against Fulmers inability to beat Spurrier and florida. However, the next years loss to them and then to Arkansas and then for those nut-heads who went to Arizona and actually thought he'd field a competative team against Nebraska started the negative sentiment toward him from the fans. The last second loss to GA in 01 was bad but the LSU loss is where it started really building. Then the total fiasco against Zook next year-the Fulmer show played hi-lights of the 01 game-started the drive to push him out. The 03 win vs Miami gave him some reprieve but the Peach Bowl loss brought the resentment back. In all, he lost games that fans were really hyped about and were expecting him to win and dissapointed the fan base so much excitement dwindled. To illustrate this point, who remembers the announcer stating sell out crowd of 107,000 and seeing 10 to 15,000 empty seats from 02 to 08? Who remembers the announcer reminding fans if you leave the game you cannot return?

Watching the BCS Selection Show and they're talking about GA, OKLA and other getting passed over for bowls and it reminds me of those times when Fulmer would cry "we deserve a New Years Day bowl".

I remember that. My wife reminded me at that time about the mid 80's under Majors. She said then that we had become spoiled. I remember her saying "I would have hated to see them during the really bad times". It was really empty then. The whole GO JOHNNY GO and take DeVoe thing was going.

we really got spoiled lol.

saban said somethings about it also. it's really not right.

It doesn't make sense. It holds losing the SECCG against you. People complain about the Vols "backing into the 07 SECCG", but fail to acknowledge UGA backing into the Sugar Bowl that year.

according to the theory that Tennessee backed-in to the 2007 SECCG. Alabama backed into the NC this year. After they lost to Texas A&M. They needed help, but it's always that way. If you loose 1 game you need help from someone.

If you loose 1 game you need someone beat some else to get in simple to understand. For bama to get into it they needed 2 teams to loose. A lot of people didn't think they would make it in after their lose to Texas A&M.

Somehow I think you're the only one that considers it backing into the NC.

Besides, you're trying to compare going 9-3 with blowout losses to Florida and Alabama (and a Cal team that finished 6-6), tieing UGA for the East, and sneaking into the SEC Championship with Alabama going 12-1, winning the SEC, and making it to the National Championship.

Two very different accomplishments.

I added according to the theory that Tennessee backed-in to the 2007 SECCG. I was just being a smart a**

I don't believe anyone backs-in to anything. Every team has to go out and handle their business on Saturday. You loose at the wrong time, you win at the right times. That's college football. No one backs-in you handle when you need too and you will make it to the SECCG. Even if e had a 9-3 record so did all the other teams and we beat who we needed to. That's football.

Thank you.

The Fulmer haters wll always downplay all his accomplishments. NC=FSU Quaterback Injured SECG=We backed into it. 152-52=SEC was weak. Obama should hire the posters on here. No one spins better.

Actually, it is the Fulmer afficionados who spin his five or six years of real success with the 152-52 mantra, always the 152-52 angle with no breakdown on who he lost to, or where he finished. They overlook his dismal last seven years which were well below U.T.'s all-time winning percentage, they spin his moral victories on the SEC title game appearances, lots and lots of moral victories, what-ifs and if-onlies. Thankfully, he isn't coming back and the six-million he received as a buyout guarantees that. TGFG.
