why couldn't he win?

2001: 11-2
2002: 8-5
2003: 10-3
2004: 10-3
2005: 5-6
2006: 9-4
2007: 10-4
2008: 5-7 (would've been at least 6-7, if not 7-6 if not for the bull****)
Totals: 68-34

He won quite a bit, but not nearly as much as he got you all accustomed to, which is why you wanted him out, and now look at the crap we're in. You'd all give your left nut to have any of those seasons except 05 and 08.

We could go 4-8 for the next 20 years and alot of people would still say "Fulmer couldnt coach" "It was the right choice to get rid of him"...........For some reason alot of people just dont like him, he could of won 3 NC and it would still be the same

I would just drop it man, people that know football, and love Tennessee, knows it was wrong to get rid of Fulmer.

The people that were happy we fired Fulmer, think we should be like Bama and Saban and go 11-1 or 12-0 every year. They are just unrealistic.

Ray Goff at Georgia.
who the hell ever at south Carolina
The three worst coaches ever at Bama
Vandy
Kentucky

When the rest of the SEC got serious about football, Fulmer was exposed. He WAS a great recruiter and motivated his players. He was never the guy that outcoached other coaches.

There was more talent on Ray Goff's teams than Richt's. A LOT more actually. GA also had a HoF coach in-between as well. As did USCe actually.

What Fulmer proved was he could still get to Atlanta during the greatest run the SEC has seen. We fired him because he couldn't win that game.

And hired Kiffin, Dooley, and the University of Cincinnati to fix that. I'm getting behind CBJ but that still seems  right now. The first two were certainly bat-s!*$ crazy hires.

With all due respect, that is one of your "old" refrains. How does competing in the SEC elevate PF's stature? PF was terminated, remember? 17-16 conference record counting his last SECCG loss, the last four years.

Because we claim the SEC is the toughest conference in college football on one hand, but when it comes to CPF, his record was against weak teams.

On an unrelated note; Merry Christmas Sjrobert.

fulmer had a good run, but stopped recruiting and started losing too much--it was time for him to go. hamilton made too terrible hires and should have been fired much earlier.

Florida fired ron zook without a replacement--they ended up good with meyer.

They didnt fire Zook mid season.

They conducted an extensive coaching search

They hired a coach with previous HC experience and proven record of success at each stop

Comparing UT to Fla isnt really apples to apples

florida fired zook in 2004 after the seventh game. he was allowed to coach the rest of the regular season games.

And when was Meyers announced as HC vs when was Kiffin announced as HC?

They conducted a search off season as well hiring a proven coach. So far we have hired the flavor-of-the-month then a desperation hire. Jury is out on Butch but at least he has a pedigree, something the other two didnt.

apples to oranges
