Post 1336 was the reference. He threw in UM and RR much later.

And if you want to get right down to business, Clawson's resume is pretty comparable to UM's from powerhouses Utah and BG.
Richmond played in a BCS bowl? When did that happen?

which does not happen. Best chance for that was 01 and UT didn't even get there

maybe Im being unrealistic, so you're saying it's SECCG or bust? the problem with that is that you have guys that are willing to be satisifed with only an SECCG appearance.

better to play and lose on the field than watch on TV and hope people lose so you get a BCS bid. I would not trade playing in Atlanta for the off chance UT might squeak into a BCS game if it all falls right

Taking Utah of all teams to an undefeated season with a BCS win dwarfs Clawson's resume.

No disrespect to Clawson though. I liked him as our OC hire.

Not even close. I'm pretty sure Clawson had more losses in one year at Fordham than Urban had during his entire career at Utah and Bowling Green.

The assistants that Fulmer hired have been successful at other schools but you're taking the "wait and see approach" for them. Because they must perform first.

But on the other hand, you'd gladly replace a very successful head coach with an unknown becuse of a few unrelated examples. And all with the hope that it might work out.

You just don't like Fulmer or any of his employees. Bottom line. I hope he rubs it your face this year just like last year by winning the SEC-E.

Wow, what an accomplishment......... winning the east......

:cray:

I could agree with that. But after this long UT actually needs to win one...

It's like this... I'm willing to wait and see how this team performs. For some reason, I'm optimistic, but I have been before. Phil knows the situation, I don't think he's on the noose quite yet, but he can't be complacent either. I'm curious to see what the posts on here will be like by Sept 20th.

EDIT: He better wion an SEC champ within 2 years IMO.

dont hold your breath

It's hard to put a timeline on a conference championship, no matter how bad we deserve one, think about how hard it is to accomplish. We really don't even know who we are offensively, yet.

The new coaches will give CPF a few years in ADMH's world.

However, for me personally, CPF was done, regardless of coaching changes, after 2006.

That doesn't mean I'm not rooting for success this fall, and will cheer as loud as I did at my first game in 1989, as loud as I did in 1998, and 2007.

Actually, that seems fair and reasonable to me.

Does that mean that if the Vols do turn it all the way around (start winning championships again), you might go as far as to forgive CPF's shortcomings of the past?

Also, I understand that 'past'... implies optimism on my part.

forgive, no. shutup about them, yes. stop clamoring for a real change, yes.
