he wouldn't run up the score, he's not like that even tho, i personally like running up the score. i'd get at least 42 pt lead before kinda letting up

Bad things seem to happen to teams that like to run up the score. ie: Tyrone Prothro.
I'm not dissing the guy at all. That was the only Alabama WR that scared the daylights out of me. He was lost by Shula trying to run up the score on UF.
Something to think about anyway.

Too bad that mojo didn't work against the gators last year.

florida? How about just winning the damn game!? That's been plenty hard enough for Fulmer against the gators. It's pretty rare for any team in the SEC to run up the score on a conference opponent, because everybody is so competitive. We thumped bama pretty good for a few years when they were bad but they will be tougher to beat with Saban. Just win, baby.

:good!::salute:

If florida, I d@mn well hope so. 'bama, no, they still garner at least a modicum of respect in my book.

Good observations! Spot on!

Saban's actions last year were not Bammer-like, so we'll have to wait and see what his tendencies are.

Florida has always run up the score as much as they possibly can. They'd use Tebow on 4th and goal from the 1 after calling a timeout to keep a couple of seconds on the clock while winning 59-20 if the scenario presented itself. I chalk that up to their lack of any meaningful football tradition prior to Spurrier--and he did have some rationale when 'margin of victory' counted in BCS rankings.

Yes, I know it's our responsibility to stop them, but it's also a college game--and when the game is out of hand, it's nice to see non-starters get a chance to take the field. The movie "Rudy" was more meaningful in the days during which second string players got some playing time. The movie would be so over the top Hollywood if Rudy played for CUM--there's no way the guy would see the field while the clock was running no matter what he did for the team.

It's defintely not like Fulmer to run up the score....but I don't think he's ever been embarrased likek he was in those two games...

So...if the scenario presented itself...I could see it happening in both games...

Well, if Fulmer ever figures out how to beat CUM it will be a very sweet win. I agree, just win... but in the spirit of the thread... if we had the opportunity to rub CUM's face in the dirt I hope our coaching staff would spring for it. Those who don't give respect don't deserve respect.

That is consistent with football tradition.

I felt the same way about Georgia and Arkansas, but I wonder why he did not choose to.

The reason is because Coach Fulmer is a class act and knows Richt and Nutt wouldn't run the score up on us if they had the opportunity. It's sportsmanship.

Richt/Nutt are the polar opposite of Meyer/Saban.

Taking Utah of all teams to an undefeated season with a BCS win dwarfs Clawson's resume.

No disrespect to Clawson though. I liked him as our OC hire.

Not even close. I'm pretty sure Clawson had more losses in one year at Fordham than Urban had during his entire career at Utah and Bowling Green.

I said pretty comparable. Obviously one was at the D-1 level. And Meyer won a BCS game.

Utah's season got UM him his big payday. But I put that season on par with Hawaii and June Jones' accomplishments last season - especially had they won the Sugar.

Meyer has proven he can win with others' talent - he's a good coach. He has yet to prove he can win with his players. Clawson built Richmond from doormat to contender.

Guys i've seen Florida come back tooooo many times when we were soundly beating them on the field I.E. 2006 We were up 20-6 ..... I say against them you have to run the score up as long as possible if you can because i've seen them GO OFF and leave us devastated too many times.... as for Fulmer.... Na he won't do it

This is just silly. The notion that Fulmer deserves some brownie points because you don't think he'd "run up the score" like you claim Florida did so meanly last year makes me want to vomit.

First, the truth is that Fulmer hasn't had a team in forever that was capable of running up a score.

Second, that game is early season and its against a ranked SEC opponent. Score as much as you can to impress the pollsters so as to jockey for a better ranking come crunch time? You are damn skippy we will, and every time.

Third, this is college football at the major school level. These kids want to play for millions professionally. They don't get their feelings hurt by being smacked down and if they do they have chosen their profession poorly.

You play to win and win soundly for 60 minutes and if you have a problem doing that, or having that done to you, at this level then get off the field.

That is all.

Fulmer won't run up the score. We don't have a over-hyped sophomore quarterback that can't throw from the pocket and should be playing fullback. Urban new that last year was Teblow's only chance at the Heisman and that he would need every touchdown he could get. With the improvements to SEC defenses and not wanting to risk injury this year, his stats won't be as impressive. Saban has no excuse. He just has no class.

Very true sir. It did seem to me and probably everyone else that CUM doesn't give us much respect. I guess the best part about that is what comes around usually goes around. I just hope i'am not old and gray before i see it.
