Coach Fulmers media conference for SEC Media Days.
I thought he sounded quietly confident. I could tell he knows that we are headed for a monster season. And is it just me or does it look like Coach has lost some weight. All in all, I am stoked!

VOL DYNASTY!!!:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:

yeah, but in terms of media hype, this team is not getting any. Some people were last year were putting them in a bcs bowl, but this year's team is better than laster and nobody thinks were going to do great. My prediction: either uf, uga, or ut, we'll go 8-4 in the regular season. One of the three will. Also the SEC east will put 2 teams in the bcs.

No it does not....did i mention 2007?????

I don't think so.

No you didn't mention 2007... but it seems as though people are ready and willing to slob over Fulmer based on us getting to the SECCG last year and Mike Hamilton went as far as to reward him with a raise/extension.

But even more so, people (including Mike Hamilton) are willing to give Fulmer a raise/extension or support Fulmer's raise/extension based on 1998.

If the past doesn't mean anything, then why is it OK for him to benefit based on the past, but not be criticized for what he hasn't done in the past 9 years?

This is what really pisses me off. Expectations are steadily going down every year. I know it's not realistic to say that we'll win 11 games every year(Even though USC has done so for 6 straight years). In the last 6 years we've realistically had only 1 opportunity in my mind to contend for a BCS bowl. If UT is considered such a prestigious football school why can't UT annually be considered for a double digit win total? UGA and UF both have football programs a lot better than Tennessee right now. LSU and maybe even Auburn in the West. It won't be long before USC and Alabama also surpass us. In 5 years those teams will be in compete transformation and we'll still be wanting our 9-4 seasons with the occasional SEC title game appearance and an occasional win over Florida/Georgia/Alabama.

Why brig up 2005.....seriously....why? 2005 has nothing to do with 2008!

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The point is, where is your cut off where the past becomes irrelevent? Last year? 2005? 1998? At what point should we not consider the past? Because based on what I've seen, 1998 is used as a justification to give Fulmer a raise/extension (very distant past) and 2007 is used as a reason for a raise/extension.

Seems as though 2005 is ignored in terms of being a reason why he shouldn't receive any more compensation. And seems like the last 9 years without an SEC title or anything else of significance is ignored also.

Aren't the current lines in Vegas for a BCS championship very similar for LSU and UT...and Auburn opened similar I think...but moved up (apparently their new offensive scheme is clicking?).

LSU was 15/1 moved to 25/1
Auburn was 25/1 moved to 20/1
UT has stayed at 30/1
So basically, we have worse odds than an LSU team that lost Hester, Dorsey, Perrilloux, and Matt Flynn.

Is that a point to be bragging about or what? I'm not certain of what your motivation is in saying that UT had similar (or actually worse) odds than LSU... :unsure:
