Fulmer Discussion (Merged)

So I guess when Fulmer does decide to step down as coach you'll come on here and say, "See, I told you so, it only took 12 or 13 years, but I was right!"

Right?

if he doesn't win a sec championship soon and continues his trend of 4-5 l's a year. i don't think it will be a issue soon.:clapping:

i know for a fact tailgating this weekend alot of the rich booster are getting fed up finishing 3rd in the east. true the ad may not care what i think, but i'm pretty sure he cares what they think.:peace2:

Define "rich booster". Unless it was one of about five people that I can think of, it doesn't matter any more than it matters what you or I think.

Im not calling him out or anything, it's just that the administration is perfectly aware of what's going on. All that's going on right now is preparing to try and win the next 9+ games.

2 seasons, if I'm correct, of 4 losses or more in Fulmer's 13/13.5 seasons. Your idea of a "trend" is on par with your idea of Ainge playing poorly last night.

the guys who park beside the stadium and pay $1000 a year parking pass. those guys are rich to me. they are pretty cool though, we always go over and watch there TV and get some free beers. i always offer to pay, but they never will take it. they are great. some times i just cruise over and tailgate with them when i don't have tix. they are what tennessee football is all about.

Yes, 2002 was a season with 4 losses. 2005 was another with 4+ losses. Please name the others to show the "trend" that you commented on.

ok here is what i consider a trend. 8-5 2002 terrible blowout loss to maryland in the peachbowl. 2003 10-3 respectable season only to get blownout by clemson in the peachbowl. 2004 10-3 respectable season again and a blow out win against a average texas A@M team. alittle better than average year. last year well we all know the story of what happened there. fulmer's record in this time period in nothing special. average to below average at best. so we have 2 terrible seasons, 1 alittle better than average season and a average season. maybe a trend of 4 loses isn't there unless he finishes this year with 4, but there is a downward trend. if he would have been at georgia, florida, or lsu he would have been forced out by now. i'm not saying he has to go, but he needs a big season this year and a sec championship shortly.

If you can say that a trip the SEC championship is only a little better than average, you've got a serious problem. look at the top 25, every year at least half of the conference is in there. Usually with two teams finishing in the top 10. So to me a trip to Atl makes it a great year.

im tired of people hating Fulmer....remember '98?!?!!?.....one bad season and everyone turns on him...the UF game was VERY close and could have went either way...Fulmer is an awsome coach so quit hatin

That game was not as close that 1 point margin would lead you to believe.

y not?.....Florida is now a "supposed" top 5 team and we are considerd just in the top 20 and we lost by 1pt

nope not that year and if you don't win it is just another game.

The underlying theme of this thread can be proven or refuted by simply adding up TCHFCATUTK's record against the following coaches: Steve Spurrier, Marc Richt, Nick Saban, Tommy Tuberville, and Urban Meyer. Those are generally considered the best coaches in the conference during his tenure. The numbers are very instructive.

That logic works until you consider that Mark Richt is:

0-1 against Spurrier (at Florida)
0-1 against Urban Meyer
1-3 against Ron Zook
1-2 against Nick Saban
2-3 against Tommy Tuberville

Does this mena Mark Richt has underachieved?

Well since the lost to UF once again the Fire Fulmer group is back at it. So if you want Fulmer gone who will we hire next to come her and coach? I think we should wait out the season and see what happens. What if we win out, UF loses 2 games. Are you still going to want to FIRE Fulmer, Or what if we go 10-2? Whats the call going to be. If you ask me if we go 9-3 he is fine. But I know some people do not agree. I am just wondering for all the people that wants him gone who we are going to get?

Well, I hate to say it , but if you want real positive change for the long term, you are going to have to make a coach change. It's not pleasent or easy, but it is what's needed. Maybe Saben wants out of the NFL or something like ,that will make a sudden impact that may re-light the douced flames of games gone by!

Yea i still have a good feeling about this season. I think Fulmer, Chavis, Cutcliffe have only lost 6 games together (or around that). And if we can improve out Oline and a couple people step up on Dline we will be fine for the rest of the season.

Not sure why Zook is relevant. However, when you factor in his dominance of TCHFCATUTK, it gets him around .500. It's also disingenous to act as if Richt hasn't beaten Spurrier the last two years. His numbers, when all relevant information is factored in, are respectable against what would be considered his most successful peers. They are certainly considerably better than TCHFCATUTK's success against peer programs..

I think most of the FIRE FULMER fan club would say. "We're tired of having Florida's SEC Loss column dictating our season. "

Which I'm with them too. I'm real tired of it. I don't want Fulmer fired but I want to control our destiny instead of situational hopes and wishful thinking.

Think about it when you go to work and talk to your buds isn't it better to be like:

"Hell yeah we're gonna win out go to the SEC Championship and whip ass"

or:

"Okay guys we gotta win out, if we lose to Georgia, then Florida has to lose 3 in confrence, and Georgia has to lose 2. If we win out after the Georgia loss and all this.....and so on, and so on."

It just seems like we do the latter alot. But still I don't want to fire Fulmer I just wish he showed a little bit of emotion. Does 3 or 5 kids have to get arrested for him to hoooop and holler.???

All players play like their coach acts. Fulmer no matter what happens on that football field he takes his headset off and claps. Since he has been coaching here I have NEVER, NEVER, NEVER wittnessed him jump up someones ass. Trust me theres been things happen on that field that he has needed to do so.

Thats my 2 cents.
