Fulmer is still the best name.

Exactly. Plus, Fulmer would've had Boyd, along with other better players. To say we wouldn't be better is ridiculous.

That's not the point. The point is that you would still be wallowing in mediocrity, because that is what Fulmer allowed UT football to sink to.

If you call winning the sec east every 2-3 years mediocrity.. Then yes, I'd like that please.

Look at all the seasons that were 7 or 8 wins. There's a helluva lot of them. To think that Tennessee was always dominant is ignorant. Why can the guy that actually bettered the program to new heights?

Because he also helped bring it to new lows.Fulmer*isn't the answer, isn't going to be the coach at UT again and is doubtful to ever coach anywhere for that matter.Don't want him, don't need him, get over it and move on.

New lows? There are seasons in there with 3 and 4 wins. He also never finished lower than 4th in the East. Come on, now you're reaching.

Winning the East is good enough for a program like South Carolina, Kentucky, or Missouri. It's not good enough for a program like Tennessee. UT should be able to win at least one SEC title every ten years. We're going on fourteen years since UT last won one.

Nobody is saying that UT has always been dominant. However, UT has six national titles and thirteen SEC titles. It should expect more than what it got from Fulmer post-2001. UT started to go into a nose-dive after the 2001 season, and the signs for what was to come were there as early as December of 2001. Had Fulmer been axed sooner, UT may have already righted the ship.

4 of those titles were when every major publication claimed a title. So, in this era, we have 2. How many of those SEC titles were won before there was a championship game? Exactly.

And? You still claim them. Who awarded them is irrelevant. Again, nobody is denying that Fulmer did a lot of good things for UT. However, when other competent coaches started to enter the conference, it became clear that Fulmer was not near as good a coach as many have built him up to be.

And, people make fun of Bama for claiming all theirs, but it is ok for us to claim ours? You (and others) act like Fulmer's record was something that never happened at Tennessee, when in fact it was pretty much exactly what our history looks like.

The names are always changing. Today my realistic list would be:

1. Patterson 4.5 million

2. Petrino 2.5 million

3. Tubberville 2.5 million

4. Golden 2.75 million

5. Holgerson 3.75 million

6. Fulmer 2.5 million

He isnt coaching for the same reason Gruden isnt coaching

He's not "unemployed". Do some research and you'll find out he has a successful company.

He's unemployed because Arkansas wouldn't offer him a 2 year contract. Let me repeat that... Arkansas wouldn't hire him. He is washed up and has been for awhile hence why we ****canned him in the first place and why no other school wants him. I don't give 2****s that his BoJangles is selling lots of 🐓

You sure? if Arky said no, then link it. Otherwise Ark could have said no or........Phil said no. He has publically said he wanted to stay near his family.

He also publically said he wants to coach again. Said it numerous times after being fired.

No takers though.

Why can't we move on. There is little if any chance they'd offer and 100% chance 60% of the fan base would be more pissed than they are right now.

He has everything we need to get the program back to being competitive and implementing a coaching search, and subsequent transition, upon his retirement.

Never......Ever....Again...Fulmers time as HC at UT is over...Get over it and move on...He's NEVER coming back.

He wants to. Doesn't mean he's going to accept any job that comes open or his name is linked to in some way.

Numerous jobs with some being big time football universites came open since he was fired. Not surprisingly Fulmer still isn't hired.
