Fulmer is still the best name.

Numerous jobs with some being big time football universites came open since he was fired. Not surprisingly Fulmer still isn't hired.

Do you accept every job opening that comes available to you? No? Exactly. Just because it is open doesn't mean anything.

He was being paid a buyout. Why go to work for free? People use him not taking a job as a negative on him or his coaching ability. Most people would not go to work 80+ hrs a week when they can spend time with their family and make 125 grand a month doing nothing. Get Real!

I still hate the fact we fired him from the beginning. That was the stupidist thing we ever done. We will never get a big time Coach. So lets suck it up, admit we messed up and bring him back!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt he would be considered for the job now. UT burned those bridges and I don't think will try to fix them. Would I be happy with Fulmer named coach today?? Sure I would. I think we would be a winner again and it would not call for "year 0's, or 5 years to rebuild". Just because Dooley could not win with our roster, does not mean a proven coach could not.

Lol. You have to get an offer before you reject anything. Fulmer got none. What kind of job does he want? Is Notre Dame, Ohio St, Florida, and other football schools beneath him?

Fulmer never put a restriction in his statements about when he'd coach. He said he wants to coach. 4 years have gone by and nobody's made any offers. I mean surely if he's this national championship winning supercoach his fans make him out to, then there would be offers and universities throwing money at him to coach.

That dude will never coach at any respectable football program.

One person got Fulmer fired and that was lazy Phil Fulmer. He thought that he owned the program regardless of his record.

I never said "offered", you did. Just because a job is OPEN (like I said before) doesn't mean he's seriously interested. As others have said, he's still got his buyout, has another job, and gets a lot of time with his family. You have no idea, minus your holier than thou attitude towards the man, how much he really pushed for any of those openings.

That is where people show they just use situations to talk down to someone. Alot of people say Fulmer was not offered any jobs. How do they know? Just because the man did not accept a spot, does not mean he was not a candidate, offered the spot, or never spoke to them at all. Just because a job comes open does not mean Fulmer was the top guy on the list. When your making 125 grand a month to not work.....it's not hard to be picky about what you want to do. I would look for the man to be back coaching shortly. His buypout is just about over and if he wants to coach, he will be coaching somewhere.

You said "accept" every job opening. To accept a job it has to be offered.

I have no idea how much he pushed for them. That's not the point. Nobody is pushing for him. Fulmer said he wants to coach. People knock down Chris Peterson's door every year. That's what a coach in demand looks like. Not Fulmer.

I think once anyone is hired, it will stop. Yes, that includes Fulmer. He would not have lost to Mizzou today if he coached this team. We need a new coach. ANY coach will give this team some hope.

I think Fulmer offers us the very best options and is the smarter choice.

He can re energize the fan base
He can recruit
He is well liked on campus and with the alumni, donors
He works well with quarterbacks
He has solid connections with other coaches
He would likely keep some of the staff....hopefully Coach Pitman and Coach Graham
He loves the university

I didn't agree with his last two or three seasons but great coaches have down years...looking back we should have given him time. Plus we are now very low on reserves

Fulmer is the reason we're in this mess. It's like fans have battered wife syndrome with him.

Its Bush's fault Dooley needs four more years. Just have faith he has a plan. You haven't seen it but you just have to trust Dooley. Fulmer is to conservative, We Need Hope And Change.

Just came by for a good laugh. The last of the Fulmerites have congregated. You guys are worse than the idiots who think Gruden would coach for us.

I wouldn't advocate for Phil to be brought back, but I wouldn't be totally opposed either. I think we could do a lot worse (Dooley), but could also do a lot better. At least I hope.

Fulmer would divide the fan base as he did a few years ago. The program is in the shape that it is largely due to Fulmer.
