How'd he do against Bama with Saban?
The man had 2 bad years out of 13 and not even back to back years. Remember two losing seasons in 13 years and Never back to back. He may not be the best hire or maybe he is, but regardless the Tennessee fans owe the man respect. He gave his all for the university and gave a our 1st NC since 51'. If you want to judge him on his bad give him credit for his good. We were one play from winning the SEC and going to the NC game in what year? 2007.
There is no way in hell we had a chance at the national championship game at 10-3. You have completely lost your mind if you believe that.
Had consecutive losing seasons, 9-13, his last 2 yrs...he would never have been fired under any circumstances for taking them from futility U to nat'l relevance...but make no mistake he went out on a losing note..
Most of his winning took place on the front end. When the league got better we were going the other way. He had a chance to fix it and couldnt make it happen.[/QUOTE This is the s.e.c. and sometimes there are great times sometimes not so great but do not change when your still relavent ! fulmer did a good job and yes he made some mistakes as you an i and everybody else has .but you give a man a chance to correct those mistakes ! the sec was changing i know but he could have turned it around .kiffin was an idiot dooley i was hoping but the vandy loss finished that. but i give him a thumbs up for being a good man and trying as hard as hew could ! i can name a number of coaches who had upswings and down turns . but unless you totally lose the team or go to the outhouse .keep him especially with his record .!
Actually, I would say there was 1% chance of us going. You remember how effed up the BCS rankings where goin into the conference championship week. Not arguing this at all. Woulda been interesting. I know we wouldn't be went for sure, but it would have been interesting to see
I just gave you the d for the 4 yrs you mentioned...the d has been consistently excellent..as f fulmer vs any coach, spurrier was pretty crappy against dubose and bowden when he was at UF..so what...
It's funny, because I don't even have to make this point to you. You've seen it yourself. USCe is good when their offense is good. Whose responsibility is that? How's Ellis Johnson doing?
Spurrier has beaten Saban at Bama. Fulmer couldn't even beat his backup QB and RB with one of the best defenses we've ever had.
