Fulmer is still the best name.

i agree about the pride part,it makes sense to me now,i didn't like the way the whole thing went down,if he had been kept and been able to run the program like he wanted to,i think he would have beat the Generals record for wins by now

for having 2 bad years, with his winning percentage, over the years,he should have been given more time to overcome the Clawfense ,that was a awful hire, just like what killed CDD,with Sal

CPF and the chief would have the program looking to kick some butt, instead of the other way around

What's funny is alot of the ones who wanted Fulmer fired for hiring Clawson and that bad season were saying how Dooley should get a 4th year as long as he was willing to fire Sal and get a better DC. Hart could hire Fulmer now and I would be fine with it. If Fulmer were given a 5-6 year deal and allowed the type of money for assistants people are talking about Gruden getting, we would be very good next year.

If Tennessee can not attract the type of head coach that is a big name proven coach then I would take the big guy back. Especially if the AD fixes the money and admission policies the way they used to be.

I can't even believe that this is a real thing.. Fulmer will NEVER coach at the University of Tennessee again. Sorry guys. Move on, he has.

most likely not Hammer, but when Gruden decides to coach in the NFL or just talk football and a few others might say no,he is a proven winner and everybody knows he bleeds orange,I'd actually say that is a better chance of that happening than Gruden coming to UT,but that is just my thoughts :) and if such a thing would happen,i just hope the powers that be put there support behind him

I get Gruden is everyones #1.

#2 Patterson

#3 Petersen

#4 Stoops

#5 Petrino(Hart may not even consider it)

#6 Fulmer

If we get down to #6 and we are looking at Strong, Dykes, Golden, and Coordinators I would seriously consider hiring Fulmer. This job may not be as attractive as some think it is. It may need to do some winning to spark the interest back up.

Dude. Two coaches at the same basic stage of their careers stop coaching for a few years and then come back to their school (if Fulmer did of course). If that were to happen, there is nothing to say Fulmer could not win again just like CBS is doing right now. That was the original point. And it still stands. Because it is true. He could come back and lose but he also could come back and win. Either way, that answer is an unknown.
Now, I have not seen anything that says Fulmer pursued any job. But even if he did, what would that mean? I do not know if CBS pursued any jobs and do not really care. It would only be a meaningless feather in your cap. Pursuing jobs and the ability to win football games are different matters. The latter is what I am concerned with. You suit yourself.

To be fair to all, Snyder was basically forced out by the previous AD at K State after some down years.

Most of you have to admit that Fulmer is a better choice than most of the guys on any lists... with the offense in good shape now...just need a DC....honest thoughts?

i know it is a huge stretch to consider CPF, no idea who the DC would be,i don't know if chief would leave LSU,but what if ? hmmm and keep Chaney as OC,there is no doubt that CJC can put points up,my my I'll have to drink another beer and think this over, come to think of it,imagine CJC with CPF telling him to run the damn ball more,my my lol

Fulmer missed on Cobb and Willis. For those 2 reasons every person who suggests him needs a kick in the jimmy.

Every coach misses on players now and then. How many other SEC teams missed on Cobb? Exactly.

If you read the article today about Dooley and his lack of recruiting, I think Fulmer could heal alot of those broken relationships pretty quick.

Unless we can get Saban, Meyers, or Miles, Fulmer is the best option for this program, at this time. So suck it.

Phil would come back in a heartbeat , provided we didn't insult him by offering half of what we were prepared to offer several others. Chief ,on the other hand, is gone forever. LSU treats him very well and he's going to stand with them until they don't want him anymore. You reap what you sow, and we are getting ours. Maybe the lesson will be learned.

That lesson being that UT held on to Phil AT LEAST 3-5 years too long!

At least he probably remembers the same 8 plays we ran every game for the last five years of his tenure. It would be more 3 and outs than we have seen in 4 years! But we could sure set up the punts!

Fulmer comes back.
Keeps the entire offensive staff, why fix what's not broken.
Bring Chavis with him as DC and assistant head coach!
Chavis fixes the defense and we actually compete again.

With all the Fedora, Strong, Davis, etc talk, would you want any of them if Phil could get Chief to come back?
