I was told earlier in this thread that Georgia has no chance and that Gibbs is a Vol and always has been a Vol. Gibbs is keeping a very low profile with his recruitment so I don't know what the basis is for those absolute type statements. As a rule of thumb, when it comes to recruiting it's a good idea to think in terms of the staff locking down your state and then taking swings for out of state kids, knowing that there will be some misses on some out of state kids.
It would probably be smart to keep in mind that Gibbs has publicly said that he didn't have a dream school growing up. He was born and raised in Georgia. His best friend and teammate is Breon Dixon; a Georgia commit. His cousin JR Reed; who he trained with in Dallas for the past five or six years, just committed to Georgia. Gibbs considers JR Reed's dad; Jake Reed, a second father figure. He has publicly said he loves Kirby and Mel Tucker. Add it all up and it likely means that Georgia is still in this one. If he signs with Tenn then my hats off to Butch and his staff, because the facts I just listed are a lot to overcome for any coach.
Finally there are the academics; and I'm not sure which school Gibbs is favoring academically. His mom and family in general are very big on academics and I expect that will play a big role in his recruitment; and could swing things towards one school or another.
You guys are probably in the lead. Not getting him would be a major disappointment for GA given that he is instate, relatives to play with, and much closer to home.
