'17 GA DT Aubrey Solomon (NCAA IS A FAIR ORGANIZATION)

We all agree except a few think playing time can be used solely to get a waiver

@Glitch and @Sleegro have said so

I have clearly stated that playing time is the reason for many transfers regardless of the reasons stated in the request. It is obvious to everyone, including the NCAA, that PT is the reason for the transfer and the NCAA still grants the waiver. I have never stated that PT is the listed reason for the waiver request. The only reason AS isn't going to get approved is that Michigan isn't cooperating or helping their former player and his new school. They are being petty and acting like a spoiled kid.

Aubrey has been here since January, if Michigan and JH were the only hiccup in the process then we woulda been hearing about it as the sole issue months ago.
Drawing that from your personal experience with this process? You sound like you think you know what you’re talking about.

Yes he has
That's not what I've taken from his post. What I've understood to be his point was in reality, playing time is the reason for transfer many times but what is submitted would be other mitigating circumstances.

If player A wants to transfer from school A to school B for more playing time, even if coach A supports that, and his letter states soley that "Player A is never going to play here. You need to let him play at school B and be eligible immediately so he can get on with his career. He's a great kid, yada, yada, yada." I think that gets denied. Whereas if the same circumstances exist and coach A writes a letter stating that "He's a great kid and has done everything asked of him here but it's just not working out. He's struggled to fit in with his teammates and he's extremely homesick and it would be best if he found a new home closer to his family and there is no reason he should not be alowed to compete this year." In that case he would likely be granted the waiver.

Having said that, both cases would in reality, a transfer because of a lack of playing time but when it comes to the official reason it would be something entirely different. And, as I said earlier, if all parties are on board, I suspect the bar to grant the waiver would be extremely low.

I agree with all this

I agree. I also agree most are leaving for more playing time but that isn’t the reasons stated to the ncaa. As long as both schools play nice the ncaa is granting the request

Mass collusion to lie to the NCAA? Is that what we are saying? Seems like a big risk by all. But I also guess it would be hard to uncover and a risky PR battle to fight.

One thing I took from the Mars article is how little any of us really know about any and all cases. A lot of assumptions and social media torching with no real knowledge of the situations.

The best we can hope is for stringent auditing of the cases to ensure fair, consistent decisions are being made. I would think these would be done by the members (D1 schools), which themselves have an interest in fairness and consistency so any future kids coming in to their programs will get a fair shake.

But you cite your MESSAGE as INFO...and it’s a wobbly OPINION. Only reason you keep my interest...which I can understand would be misinterpreted as infatuation by an uninteresting specimen such as yourself.

Show me where I cite my message as info. You show me another way to write out my shiz then maybe I’ll take it into consideration too. Furthermore I can’t help it that you and others are too stupid to realize the difference between someone’s message board opinion based off what they know and an actual reporter/journalist. Just cause big Gucci sosa has that screen name that don’t mean he’s Gucci, effing bearcat isn’t an actual bearcat going on a computer somewhere. I mean come on man, use your common sense with this stuff.

I am indeed an actual bearcat. A true VN insider would know this

Not much in way of speculation that WE effed the paperwork up...if we know English or at least your version. You ride that “opinion” fence then CITE “INFORMATION that you have BEEN GIVEN”...so mysterious and deep throaty. 😏I don’t give a crap about your screen name, dawg! Look at mine!

That's just not true. In some of these cases, there is considerable back-and-forth, with multiple requests for additional documentation or clarification of information. Some of this documentation is sourced from peripheral parties, including physicians, family members, etc., depending on the case. It takes a considerable amount of time to put together a complete package, and complex cases move slowly, especially when the previous school isn't cooperative. So the timeline on this case is impacted by numerous things and people outside UT's control.

Furthermore, the case file passes through compliance, legal, outside consultants and the AD. So alleging that UT screwed it up is saying that the university has many layers of bunglers and no checks and balances. And while that may be an opinion, it's not factual.

TY!!!

@InVOLuntary here he is saying that playing time is all you need for a waiver
Bruin, how do take that snippet as what you claim Sleegro stated as fact? I bet you go to bed each night arguing with yourself! All Sleegro, Glitch and others have tried their damdest to get in your thick skull is that if both schools communicate and cooperate together, regardless of the players' reason for transfer, in most cases the ncaa approves the damn thing! Go look in the mirror and argue with yourself!

Sorry you don’t like what I have to say, make sure you finish off @Sleegro good for Them likes he throwing u too.
