'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

I wonder what happens if UGA lands Paris Johnson?

That would give them the top 2 OT in this class with Ratledge bringing up the caboose.

Pittman: “Now that I’ve sat down and recovered, Tate, let’s talk some more about thangs that ain’t quite football and such! Girls...like in recruiting, if’n you say it NICE it ain’t lying! Whatever lands em so you can go git the next one! Now help Uncle Sam up and let’s go get a Dr. Pepper or some other sody water.”

This is going to be a slow and arduous rebuild. We have to concentrate on Vandy, KY, SC, and Missouri being automatic wins. Most of these high profile players want to compete for championships and we're 2-3 years from even sniffing that. Pruitt will have to do it the Coach Barnes way of bringing in a majority of solid recruits but players that need some time to develop in order to contribute consistently. JMO

Not going to hate. Kid made a business decision and was respectable about it. He gave us plenty of shots hoping he would get that feeling but at end of the day hard to overcome what is on paper in that we have 2 five star OTs coming in and UGA didn’t do much there last class because of what they did the 2 yrs prior. Pittmann hard enough to beat on level playing field in recruiting let alone with an advantage

We're going to lose more than we win going against the elite, unless/until we can match on field results. So fans can eithe be ok with that and we steal a few here and there.
Or petition the staff to shoot lower and "stay in our lane bro", so we feel better about getting commits...then complain about not landing any big fish on signing day.
I want them all but reality. I'll accept the losses but keep trying.

That's some Butch level stuff. Maybe I'm just a jaded old man, but I cringe when I hear things like that...even when they do choose UT.
I think it's cheesy as hell but these kids seem to buy into that crap. I think it can be effective. I think Pruitt is a no nonsense straight shooter type and with many of these kids it doesn't resonate. Many of these kids want to be told how great they are and are not interested in hearing what they need to work on.

You can't catch any big fish unless you go fishing where they swim.

Like @SSVol it makes me cringe but you're right. We say all the time "kids aren't going to fall for" but we say that as adults.

Several kids do buy the negative recruiting and the cheesy bs. They're teens.

I'm certain they do, but the kids who are most emotionally susceptible may struggle to make the transition from being recruited to being coached. Can't see a guy like Saban needing to take a seat and pretty sure Pruitt won't either.
