Game thread: #11 Lady Vols host Georgia. Sunday, March 2, Noon ET, SECN

Kim!! You cannot lose that game!!! Something is wrong with this team!! Locker room issues or something. Sara, Good grief acted like she didn't even want to be there. Expected a big senior year from her! Kim needs to fix whatever is happening. We have looked like the tired team the last few games.

There are no moral victories today. I’m not opposed to them in general, but the team doesn’t deserve it today.

Watching us get eviscerated by Kentucky with clean, well-executed plays kinda put it in stark relief for me. We have a lot of talent, but it seems like we have to deal with sloppy play about 40% of the time. Kim needs to find a way better balance between up tempo chaos and clean execution.
I don’t disagree with that. I said they should have won the game, and they didn’t. Win the games you’re supposed to win. With that said, imploded isn’t what I saw. I saw a team fight from 23 down with their best player out. As a coach, that’s what you want when adversity hits. Her being a first year coach, I believe she’s already overachieved expectations and the UConn win carries a lot of equity for the future.

Ugly and damaging loss! But it is year one with a patchwork roster that I believe overachieved for much of the season. It is a very unsound style of basketball. Can KC recruit so well that the talent overcomes the philosophy? That’s the question starting year 2.
Talent has to match the philosophy in this league. Lot of players just don't have the ability to recover on the backside of the press.

I thought you didn't believe in excuses like losing your best player that the previous coach signed without the NIL funds that the current coach has...

Welp. Lady Vol Basketball is NOT back.

This wasn’t on the refs. There wasn’t a talent disparity even with Coop out. Coach just didn’t make proper adjustments. Literally had one job down the stretch and that’s win the games you’re supposed to.

The Vandy loss still stinks. Made it up with a UConn win. Now this. Really wish we had a coach that could get it done in high-pressure situations.
it’s her first season. i do think CKC has nowhere to go but up in her career. shes gonna need time. next year should tell you a lot more about her coaching abilities.

Going down 23 points at home to one of the worst teams in the sec is maybe where we should start and end when assessing this game. Kim has, by far, exceeded expectations for her first year. And she needs better players no doubt. But there is no sugarcoating this loss. Losing a top 16 seed because you lost at home, on senior day, to arguably the worst team in the league is not great
Nope, win the games you’re supposed to win. It’s a bad loss. We can be upset with the getting down and acknowledge the resolve the team had in going ahead. The final few mins the team needed to find a way to pull away.

JMO...it seem as a coach you put your best players on the floor and let them go win. More so when you are in trouble to a very bad team. KC has somethings to learn.

Pre-game speeches are not working. Coming out flat every game has to be a mystery to the coaching staff. For me, this is the worst game of the year. I knew Kentucky would come out playing with their hair on fire. You only have so many games to play in college. Coming out uninspired every game is perplexing to say the least. Go Vols! Start strong in SEC tournament because we need at least a couple of W’s.

You must not understand “I don’t disagree with that”. It’s ok, you’re a low level booster. You must’ve missed the parts where I stated win the games are supposed to win.

The press. When you give up so many easy buckets a game by driving and hitting layup after layups and expend so much energy to failure. We call it off a little after we have seen us fall behind by 23 points? I know we’ve had some success, but what we sub for a couple of players just for the sake of rotating? It’s like if we had pulled DK last year during the home Auburn game

I think losing to a horrible team at home can also tell you something about her coaching. Don’t get me wrong, there have been bright moments(UConn obviously) but today’s loss combined with Florida and Kentucky tells you just as much as the wins. People saying we don’t have the talent yet but again we beat UConn. She has to learn to make adjustments to her system, and I’m hopeful she can, but today is as bad a look as UConn was good.

FWIW, 6 seed will get you sent to Duke, UNC, or TCU more than likely.
Those three would be favorable match ups for Tennessee. Both Duke and UNC can struggled to score against effective defenses that have equal or superior athleticism

This was definitely a bad loss for Tennessee. I have a cousin that plays for GA and I'm glad she got a positive win in the midst of a horrible season.

That’s certainly one way to look at it and only a sunshine pumper should look at it that way. It’s okay to criticize Kim and this team when they play poorly. And the simple fact is today was unacceptable. Coaching and playing simply weren’t good enough against a very bad team and it cost us big time. So sure you can celebrate “resolve” and good fight back. But in no way should it have ever come to that and that’s the problem

Would previous coach recruited a class like CKC has coming in next year? Obviously we will never know but history says. No way.

Love that you haven’t posted since February 10, but here you are now. Danny white wrecked you.

Believe the kids call you a drive-by poster now.
