This game highlights how good the coaches do for a set offense when you really need a score. This is something we haven't seen in many years. Very proud of the ladies how they worked the ball for easy shots when they needed them most. Congrats on having the defensive players on the court for the final stop. Big win ! GLV

I still don't understand the why of all this. Why not just don't sin? This concept still seems like going to a sh*t ton of trouble when you could just play straight, take and make good shots? Like we did tonight almost the whole second half? I really liked how the LVs looked minus all the extra frenatic chaos and constant whistles.

Yeah I didn't understand what CKC was so worked up over to call Coop out like that? Coop dribbled tthe ball off her knee trying to make move. No biggie, certainly not intentional. She was right to be making the move. I thought it was over the top.

Oddly enough the girls looked exhausted in the second half at times.

Don't know my head was whirling actually don't know who shot what know for the game we made 9 of 32 which is not that good.

That's 28%. Season average on 3 point shots is 29%. Need to get that trending upward.

Nope. Got overwhelmed in the 3rd but settled down, took control back and won the game. Don't think we would have done that without settling into half court the fourth qtr. I'm very encouraged we can play that way.

We weren't hitting any shots, which we need to do to set up the press. Also they began to solve it for easy baskets when we did press. That's going to happen as we play better teams.

I was worried about shaking off our rust. That was certainly not a problem. Was a little surprised by the fatigue. FSU gonna be tough. Glad we picked up the win, as I see them getting better if they can develop some help for Latson.

Yes, but Cooper just paused and was clearly frustrated with herself after the turnover and didn't try to run back at all on defense. Based on the post-game presser, I think that's what she was upset about.

What a whirlwind of a game! I think we got to see moments of the system at its finest in the 2nd quarter when we started making threes and FSU just looked stressed out by our defense and rebounding. We got to see the system at its worse, as when a talented team with talented guards stop turning it over while we still aren't shooting well. Perhaps most importantly is we saw in the 4th quarter how we can stay even with a really good team while playing a more traditional game on both offense and defense.
I know it is so early in her career, but I think Coop is light years ahead as a sophomore compared to where our 4 recent first round draft picks were in the Sophomore years. Not even close when you give equal weight to offense and defense. And in what universe should Spearman shoot 6 3 pointers when she can drive and penetrate so well. Latham continues to improve. Boyd has her first Freshman like game, but this should be a learning experience. Jillian mostly looked good and had one of the best +/- scores. Jewel continues to run hot and cold in the same game, looking anxious at times when she is open for a three. I know she has been hurt, but this has been a pattern this year. It will be so great for this team and her personally if she can sustain her confidence in her shot even when she misses. Spencer had her hardest game given the good guard play by FSU, but still had a good stat line except for 4 turnovers: 11 points while shooting over 50%, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal).
We have lost so many of these types of games over the years, that it felt great to come out of top. The Iowa game should be fascinating.

I just don’t get how cooper was limited at SC. she’s so so good. avg 2.9 at sc and 19.2 here. she’s worked her butt off to be where she’s at.

LOL! Everybody noticed it, so... pretty much did its job just sitting there. It's at every press conference in every sport at Tennessee.

Must be getting close to its expiration date...

Give Latson her credit but no need to exaggerate as if she was just better than any player on the court.
Tennessee had a bad 3rd quarter. Latson and FSU scored on a lot of breakdowns and just poor execution.
At the end of the day, Talaysia Cooper and Lazaria Spearman took over in the 4th qtr.
Cooper was the best player on the court when it counted on both ends of the floor.
Again great game by Latson and FSU but when it was time to make a play the best players on the court in the 4th qtr (Coop and Spearman) seal the deal.
