Game Thread: Lady Vols Vs Arkansas; Sun Jan 12th ; Away game; 1PM Eastern; SEC Network WIN 93-63

It's interesting, both the LSU and Oklahoma games were called fairly reasonably, but our games against outmatched opponents have been very one-sided. Is the SEC wanting to keep our games close, at least for our games on the road...? (or is that going too far in the conspiracy direction)

Will be looking out for how MSST@UT is called.
Or, the worst mismatches just get the poorest officiating crews--who know that and are trying to earn respect within their domain by showing their ability to see and call every touch.

...not realizing yet that a well-officiated game is more of an art than a science.

I wonder if refereeing attracts more people who are heavy on the OCD scale... and if the task of refereeing organizations is to re-channel and inform those instincts? Or else, cull them.

Take a 30 point win on the road any day. Just wish it was more fun to watch. The officiating made that an awful product for viewers.
They some hand checking fouls on Tennessee.
But bet we see worst when Tennessee plays some teams going over the back against against Tennessee the other team will get away with it.

Plusminus highlights:

Jewel +24 (first net win against a power conference team for her, now 1-5; starts of a trend, hopefully!)
Whitehorn, Spencer, Cooper all in the +20s
Puckett +10 (her first net win since vs. A&M, moves to 2-4 against P4 competition)
Boyd +12 (in only 12 minutes! So the team was on pace for +40 while she was on the court, and on pace for only +25 when she wasn't. This is also her first net win; got very close against A&M (-2) but no dice until now)

Lowlights? Pretty much none; the only people in the negatives only played 2-3 minutes. Not a meaningful sample.

It was a very good effort much more like she would like team to play every game. 45.5 percent from the field and the plus 28 shots was exactly what she likes to see. Refs had their whistles blowing today as Arkansas get 25 trips to the free throw line. We can't let that happen and no don't agree with a lot of the calls guess we'll have to figure out how to play under this system of contact which right now seems like there is no system.

Boyd was shutting Higginbottom down anytime she was on the floor but couldn’t stay out there because they called her for 4 fouls where Highinbottom pushed off and created the contact. Really irritating to watch.
