Game Thread Lady Vols vs. Carson-Newman College,Exhibition Game

You concocted a post that said Diamond was going to miss half the season and acted like Holly said it. It wasn't remotely what Holly said and it wasn't fair to her (and I'm not a big fan of Holly, TBH). So, um, yes, I said you were being dramatic and that's exactly what I meant. You also said Holly acted pissed when she was asked about injuries ... and she clearly wasn't. Nothing about her tone or her body language suggested she was irritated or mad.

Diamond has shin splints. Shin splints require rest. It's a chronic issue and she has them because of a more serious injury she had when she got to UT. Holly has made it very clear that she is being eased back in and they want her ready for games that actually MATTER. So why is it some sort of a surprise that she isn't going to play in the exhibition game? Diamond may very well miss games to start the season. The writing has been on the wall on that issue for a couple months now ... so not sure why anyone would want to act surprised that it's November and she's not playing in an exhibition game. Where exactly have y'all been all this time? This isn't news ... which is MY point.

all-knowing sage when it comes to DD's health? The fact is, DD's situation has been unclear because Warlick never talks facts but is giving fans and the media vague comments when it comes to injuries. We've known there is an issue, but the severity is quite unknown. Beyond that, there is a general concern because she is so important to us this year--and any player who is not playing or practicing regularly risks not being sharp--so please spare us your patronizing attitude.

As for Jones making everyone forget DeShields, uh, not quite. Let's not be completely delusional.

It's been clear she probably wouldn't be ready to play at the start the season for a while now. Some of y'all just can't see the forest for the trees.

Patronizing attitude? Well ain't that the pot calling the kettle black.

Now that's straight up bs and you know it. Unless you have some kind of special insider info, which I highly doubt, the general consensus among fans and even from diamond's on mouth, was that she was ready to go. That's why fans were surprised when it was learned that she wasn't going to play in the CN game, just go back and read the posts, unless facts don't matter to you and obviously they don't bc you are putting words in my mouth I never said. Armchair is right, take that patronizing shizzel elsewhere..

So you would like to risk further injuring her by playing her in an exhibition against Sisters of the Poor?

What part of "she is being eased back in" don't you people understand? She has a chronic injury that will most likely have to be managed the rest of her playing career.

So, according to you, DD has a permanent chronic injury that can only be Managed.

If that is the case, I seriously doubt that she will be the difference maker that is needed to make UT an elite team again.

Hornbuckle had an injury that needed to be managed. Look what she did. Lets wait and see what happens. Btw many players on many teams don't play in exhibition games

I will be interested in what Jones can do skill wise. She has turned herself into a very strong physical player that will really get on the boards this season. It still remains to be seen how she has improved as a shooter and scorer. I expect we will see her average a very high total of rebounds.

To add this is the most talented physical Lady Vols basketball team we have had in years. I am really looking forward to this season. We have depth and skill on this team.
