Much better look for LV tonight. Lack of rebounds and forced turnovers were the difference. Love the fight in these ladies. We had better FT shooting, missed four. Two close losses at home smell as bad an Alabama trailer park on July. We must remember they were both Top 10 teams. Go play in the snow tomorrow.

They we’re home for both games and loss,it doesn’t matter the score, u need to get at least one of them. Its fine, this is her first year, next year is when she needs to get things done.

We have the right coach and from wha to read, she has a top recruiting class. Coach is installing her style of play so the Lady Vols will be a final four contender w/in 2-4 yrs.

WBB is still relevant today due in large part to Tennessee women’s basketball. They have never fallen off a cliff. What has happened is they went through a phase that all great programs will experience.
As a sports person, I knew the Lady Vols would eventually work their way back to the top.
They have already shown this season they are a strong and talented team that is highly competitive.
They will get over the hump.

I hate this team lost another close one especially to teams they could have very easily have beaten. However, these ladies never quit and play hard until the end and at least put themselves in a position to win .. yes, shots don’t fall sometimes when we want them to and yes, rebounding needs to improve , but I like this team’s tenacity , grit and fight .. remember, this team had to buy into what coach Caldwell and her system of play would bring to this season .. And they have!! 13-2 and only losses are to #10 and #6 ranked teams in the nation ( by one point and two points )! I’ll take that over last years season any time! Good things are brewing in Knoxville with the Lady Vols !! Keep your head up ladies !! On to the next game !

Maybe, but, again... when you play well over 100 minutes of net negative basketball against teams with a pulse, at some point it might just be you. Other girls on this team have played positiv basketball regularly just fine. Samara, Cooper, Whitehorn, Hollingshead, Darby... but not Spear.

The NCAA has been considering a rule which would provide all players in every sport 5 years of eligibility .....rumors have been that it will be passed by NCAA soon and go in effect for 2025.So she might have another year depending on how this 5 year rule is written.

Honestly I think the staff did a really good job to put a team together out of the portal when we had like three players returning that have played this well thus far. We can go toe to toe with top ten teams just can't beat them right now. They shoot 49 percent we shoot 42 percent. Our 11 threes evened it up a lot as the foul line ended up even 12 made by both teams.

Glad to see Spearman come back in with a better attitude.

A lot of the growth this team needs is mental --- both in toughness and decision making.

And they also need experience --- both in the system and in playing with each other.

Also shoutout to Holligshead who looks like a totally different player and is actually not shying away in the post and is playing more like her size.

We all have our own backgrounds, I think maybe I take losing too hard, I’ve been like that my entire life when it comes to anything competitive, u may be ok with it but I’m not and that’s fine. I literally turn the channel at the end just so I don’t have to see the other team celebrating,

The refs were horrible as well late in the game. Couldn’t get a foul called at all in the ladies favor.

The officiating was probably as close to even as I’ve seen. On those layups when the defender hands is straight up our players just have to learn to finish through contact.
We were literally a handful of missed layups away from the win tonight.

I still disagree pretty vehemently with the usage of the word “can’t” here. Two close losses doesn’t mean we can’t beat those teams. We DIDN’T beat them, but I think the ladies will keep getting better throughout the season. Who knows what happens in game two?

Guarantee neither of those teams wants to play us again. You wouldn’t feel that way about a team that couldn’t beat you.

They had like 42 of that in the first 15 minutes of the game. Our defense is not good don't know if it will get fixed this season. We've played enough games that it should be better. We won three quarters, but lost the first quarter by nine points.

I wish CKC would adopt CPS's attitude toward defense and rebounding. These were close losses but they could have been wins with better defense and rebounding. CKC is very offensive minded and she has achieved a .880 (rounded) winning percentage with this mindset. However, this mindset alone will not work in the SEC. She must make defense and rebounding a priority together with her offensive mindset.
