Wes Moore who left UTC for NC State would have taken the job. Holly's first game and loss came at the expense of his UTC team. Jeff Walz would also do wonders with our talent.

I am under no illusions--Holly is here to stay for a while. I will predict however that until Tennessee decides to refresh the program with talented individuals to lead the porgram from outside the Pat Summit tree the programs status is gone.

What worked in the 1990's will not work today. Times have changed. Our offense is stagnant. The strategies are not working. The players are not hungry and seem to almost rely on name to make things happen. We resemble a great nation at the apex of its power whose citizens have become fat and lazy. This isn't all on Holly. Absent the Candace Parker years the stagnation started well before Holly took over.

My good friend was one of Moore's players at UTC and is now his GA at NC State. She says the same thing. Hes a great coach.

Fundamentals of basketball escape Tennessee at the present. Until we get players in here that can pass the ball and shoot the ball this will happen. You can only get so far with athletic players before you go down like we did today.

We will go the way of Louisiana Tech. Slow decline towards irrelevance.

If I'm not mistaken he even had State in the top 15 for a while this in his first year there.-but we had to promote from within.

I'm amazed that all of the talking heads picked Tennessee to win this game. they had to know that Tennessee hasn't been sharp all tournament.

Oh well, thnks fr th mmrs, Simmons. Good luck in the draft.

Props to Alyssa Thomas. Tennessee had the potential to make a run, but Thomas matched them bucket for bucket. She will make a WNBA GM very happy in April.

I know that they had the same time off,but it seem to hurt them more,they never did look like the same team as in the SEC Tournament,or to me any way

Not sure what to expect for next season, i didn't see any positive that i could take away from this game.

Walz was in the championship game in his 2nd yr as a head coach, that's unbelievable. Crazy to think that UofL has been to 2 championship games since we've even made the Final 4.

I don't think so....UT plays in too tough a conference for that, and has too established a pedigree. Unless your AD allows it to happen, like it did with ULT. Again, I doubt that would be allowed in such a tough successful conference where the Lady Vols have been the face of it...

UCLA comes to mind more to be honest with you. UCLA is still looking for John Wooden in the ground around LA to come back the same way many of our fans are still looking for Pat.

The difference is that Wooden retired at the apex. The end of Pat's tenure resembles Bobby Bowden much more. The difference is that FSU went out and grabbed Jimbo Fisher instead of handing it over to Bobby's bff Mickey Andrews. Tennessee passed it on to Pat's bff.

Tennessee has also suffered through some superbly talented players that cannot handle the big moments. Stricklen, Simmons and now Burdick are the biggest offenders. Burdick in particular is frustrating. She has all this swagger playing against scrub teams, but retreats into her shell the moment the ball is tipped against he decent teams. Tennessee NEEDS A'ja Wilson!

Next year we should be a lot better. We only lose Simmons but get a top 5 recruiting class along with getting Tucker back who would have been huge for us this year because unlike most of our guards she can score
