This game is just another example of unwillingness to put an ass on somebody and box out. Spear, Darby & Spearman repeatedly allowed their rebounder to out work or maneuver around them for boards. Just are not going to beat good teams getting out rebounded night in and night out.

Agree. Texas dominated us on the boards.

Just another gut punch so close but yet No. You have to keep playing Ladies. Big Girl was really good at moving her man with those thighs very savy. Great effort just physically not there in this game. Go Lady Vols and good job Coach in tough situation. In CHRIST Alone

Am I crazy or does Spearman just kinda mail it in sometimes, especially when she’s frustrated? There were a number of plays where she seemed to give about 50% effort. I’ll take a miss or some other miscue if you’re putting in effort, but she makes me wonder sometimes.

Exactly why she is 6'4" and only had 2 rebounds tonight. Just does not want to do the work necessary. Same could be said for Hollingshead. She is 6'5" and only had 3 rebounds tonight.

Well I'm proud of the showing tonight by the team. The Head Coach wasn't there and team was in foul trouble whole game. Some forget Texas was a double digit favorite and had to pull out the win in last minute. Future is bright at Tennessee..

This may be true, but we are 14th. If they pulled the seedlings tomorrow the committee would most likely have us hosting.

Spearman was horrible and should not have been in towards the end if she wasn't gonna try to block Booker's layup from Sam's turnover off the inbound pass.

the sec HAS TO change up the refs next year or the sec is gonna continue to be hard to watch. they recycle these trash refs every year and it’s the same crap.

Agreed. Our defense and rebounding aren’t where they need to be, but we finally put together 4 quarters of pretty dang good basketball on the road against a top 10 team.

Well a 80-76 is not a 15.5 point lost. Just like the Vandy game, it was lost because of no blockout. They played hard and almost pulled it off. Would have been a great win. Congratulations to Coach on his new son. As always go Lady Vol’s.

it’s not about that. it’s about players playing with fouls and how fouls themselves change the trajectory of the game.

I'm usually critical in a loss,,,but the fact that we were projected a double-digit loss,,,I am good with this outcome. It's easy to armchair the ending,,,but the whole game we were competitive and in the hunt....ANd even though I'm not a "good try-coach" I have to say,,,helluva game ladies.
