Game Thread: Samford v Lady Vols, Tues Nov 5th; Home-FCC; 6:30PM; SEC+ network:,,, Win 101-53

well I can tell you now, you either going to complain every game, not watch the ladies altogether, or deal with it because this is Kim’s style and she’s standing 10 toes on it! She also mentioned that the subbing will decrease once she feels her team is ready to play longer stretches and conditioning can take it… until then, sit back and enjoy the ride!
Yeah I get it, love it or leave it. And shut up about it.

I just have to adjust that ugly and chaotic is preferred over smooth and pretty bc it moves faster. Working on it. I'm sure some of the rough edges will smooth off and that will help.

Maybe it would help to associate your perception of smooth and pretty with Pat, and seek to allow Kim’s style to grow on you. Racking up wins, I’m sure will help.

huh? I never thought Pat's style was smooth and pretty. It was much more like this on D, and over dependent on points off t.o.s and putbacks for O. The LVs have actually never mastered smooth and pretty offense, even with some incredibly smooth and pretty offensive players. Which is why we are where we are today.

I do agree what sells this style of play is winning alot. Otherwise what's the point?

This team is going to rock, hard. Does not take an expert here, the soft OOC schedule, plus the ability of THIS team when they face conference foes…..there might not be 5-6 losses on the schedule, let me put it that way.
Is FSU and Iowa the only OOC that’s a challenge?

MTSU. Don’t snicker. They beat us last year, 73-62. Not sure who came back and who they brought in but will assuredly be well coached by Rick Insell.

Plenty of returning depth. Plenty challenging group.

I enjoy the up tempo style. Cooper is everything I thought she would be and more…with that being said, we’re small and at this stage, a team that can handle the ball and has decent bigs will give us fits!

Nothing about the team is small.. saying a team in WBB with 7 players over 6’feet is small is just uninformed about the sport.
Saying they don’t play their height on the floor together at the same time is one thing. But saying the TEAM is small is something completely different and false.

Last year means nothing to this new edition of LVBB.

Exactly. Talking about the outcome of games against teams like MTSU and Memphis from last season when Tennessee in three games have scored a combined 332 points in 3 games for an average of 111 ppg and just set a record for steals (28) in a game in the season opener of a new era is plain ignorance.
Regardless of how those games play out in the coming weeks, nothing about last season is even a factor.
People using that kind of stuff to try to discredit the early success is just lame.

Lady Vols defense is not very good!!! Don't get caught up in the "Smoke and Mirrors". Several of the top players can't keep their girls in front of them and causes rotations that don't need to happen.

Wells wont see the floor much this season. Latham will start taking Jill's minutes, and Avery's and Favor's minutes will start being cut. Cooper needs to tighten up her ball handling or she will average 6 TO's per game this season and the ball needs to move more.. To much ISO ball. Right now, they are just playing AAU Basketball.

This needs to start getting fixed before we play Middle TN or the Insell's will beat us again like last year!!!!!

AND WE THROW THE BALL ALL OVER THE PLACE.. TOO MANY DUMB TO's!!!
