GB vs Pittsburgh in Super Bowl

Haha whatever. We have one of the most dedicated fan bases of all time. I've never heard someone talk out of their ass as well as you're doing right now.

So dedicated that you boo the greatest member of your team over the past 30 years? Sounds like a classy operation to me, and one you should be proud to be a part of.

Again, I didn't say we're the greatest ever. All I said is that we are elite this year, and part of that is due to the fact that we have done something that wasn't done in the last 50 years.

I can get on board with this. The Packers are deserving of their NFC title this year. They were the class of the conference, especially in January when it mattered most.

I'm sorry, but I seem to remember that he was wearing Purple. Sounds like a Viking to me.

I'd never cheer Peyton running out of the South Endzone of Neyland in Crimson and White. Never. Hell, I'd probably never even cheer him after he was gone. I am at least giving Favre the ability to gain me as a fan, as long as he becomes a Packer again.

The Packers should (and probably will) go Patriots-style and pass 75% of the time on the Steelers. Like the Pats, they love passing anyway, so it's not a bad matchup for them.

And I'm not a huge McNair fan regardless, but his departure was more forced than Favre's and I still wouldn't cheer for him taking the field for the Ravens.

I can't grasp why he's so adamant about that.

Oh, and for the record, Favre was told he was welcome to return, as long as he accepted that the job was up for competition, and not automatically being given to him. He wasn't okay with that.

Yes. And he's still mad they didn't cheer the Vikings entry to Lambeau. Root for colors not names.

Again, they didn't have to cheer. It's not the teams running out of the tunnel that I'm talking about either. It's when the Vikings offense took the field for the first time, and those boos were directed squarely at Favre. Opposing QB's don't get that reception on a weekly basis, it was specific to that occasion. Look how the Red Sox fans have received guys from their '04 World Series team when they return to Fenway with other clubs. They don't always get the warmest reception, but NEVER have they directed the hatred and venom that Packer fans directed at Favre. It obvious that the Sox fans still have a healthy respect for the guys that brought them their first championship in 80+ years, and Packer fans should afford Favre a similar courtesy IMO. All I'm saying is when die hard Red Sox fans are being less obnoxious and more rational than you, that's not a good thing.

The only one from that club that left on his own regard was Damon, and he caught hell. Everyone else was pushed out, and was welcomed back.

Entirely different situations.

Honestly, had Favre returned with the Jets, it wouldn't have been so bad. But for his first game back to be in Purple? I'm glad they gave him hell for me.

Damon went to the Yankees and still got an infinitely warmer recpetion at Fenway than Favre did at Lambeau, and Favre meant way more historically to his franchise than Damon did to the Sox. All I'm saying is that Favre accomplished enough as a Packer that he should have those fans respect in spite of his less than perfect exit from Green Bay. He's earned it.

And that is where you're wrong. He doesn't deserve anything but disdain because he's an opponent. I'm not trying to go "true fan" on this, but seriously...How can you be supportive of supporting an opponent? Should I have saved my boos because Tebow was a humanitarian?

You are ridiculous. What was this warm reception at Fenway?

Favre weaseled the system to get to MN for the sole purpose of spiting TT and the club.

Charles Woodson called out Obama.
"The president don't want to come watch us at the Super Bowl, guess what? We're going to see him."

Tebow is different. He's never accomplished anything for your team, he was and will always be a rival. I just can't understand how you along with all the other Packer fans can openly revile the greatest player for your team in your lifetime. It just seems you should realize that in Favre's case the good FAAAAR outweighs the bad. Sure his exit wasn't ideal, but there were 17 years of great times that came before that. Does him playing his last 2 years for a rival really cancel out all the good stuff he accomplished in a Packer uniform?

They sure dominated the Bears by 7 points with a nobody 3rd stringer at QB for more than a quarter.

It was a double digit shutout until the 4th quarter.
We stifled their special teams.
We held Forte to 70 yards rushing.
We knocked out 2 QBs.

During the time he's not a Packer, yes it does. When he is a Packer again, which will happen soon, I will accept him with open arms. At least 70% of the fanbase feels the same way. We openly boo him because he's a Viking and viewed as a traitor. All will be forgiven when he's back in the Green and Gold. You are looking too far into how we feel about our ex-quarterback returning to play (and beat) us twice in one season.

NFL Games are 4 quarters long.
Forte averaged 69 yards per game in the regular season so he got his average in that game.

You brag how elite the Packers are because some of their loses were by 4 points or less but it appears point difference only matters in Packers losses and not wins.

Beating a team with its 3rd string QB in for over a quarter by 7 points isn't domination.

Once we had made it a double digit game, the Bears only got it back to single digits for about 10 minutes. Whenever the Bears got it close (1 possession) we would intercept them to stop any chance of making it any closer.

You're starting to sound like a Patriots fan

The run defense didn't look that great especially when Hanie was in...pretty sure the Steelers average less than 70 ypg allowed
