George Santos (aka Kitara Ravache): The Fabulous Fabulist

Do you feel the same about Biden? He told as many if not more lies and embellished his resume to get elected.

Did he? He said he graduated from college when he didn’t? Lied about the 2 companies he worked for? Lied about being Jewish?

Your list is going to have to be much, much longer to get to even half of Bidens lies. This guy is amateur compared to Biden.

Feel free to list them as this guy’s lies have been posted. I’ll denounce them as well. We’ll see if there’s anything as “amateur” as lying about being Jewish. Maybe there is and I don’t know about it.

Also not sure how Biden became a part of this convo? I mean don’t get me wrong, I understand whataboutism, but sometimes can’t we just admit that a lying POS is a lying POS without having to list every single lying POS?

Santos, who has called himself "half Jewish" and a "Latino Jew" in media appearances, has claimed his maternal grandfather was originally from Ukraine and fled to Brazil to escape Nazism. In another telling, the New York Republican said his grandparents converted to Catholicism during the rise of Nazism in Belgium after fleeing Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union. In another telling, he claimed his family changed their name to survive Nazism.

Lies about college record.
"I went to law school on a full academic scholarship, the only one in my class who had a full academic scholarship," Biden said. "The first year in law school, I decided I didn’t want to be in law school and ended up in the bottom two-thirds of my class. And then decided I wanted to stay, went back to law school and, in fact, ended up in the top half of my class."

Biden also claimed he "graduated with three degrees from undergraduate school."

All lies.

He lied about being arrested trying to see Nelson Mandela.

But during the trip, Mr Biden said he had "had the great honour of being arrested with our UN ambassador on the streets of Soweto" while trying to reach the civil rights leader on Robben Island. The town of Soweto is more than 760 miles (1,223km) from Robben Island.

He lied about his wife being killed by a drunk driver.

Biden plagiarized his way through law school.

Biden just recently lied about getting the purple heart for his uncle.

I could keep going because the list is very long. I agree that the NY congressman is a lying SOS but please don't clutch your pearls over this guy when you voted for the biggest liar to ever sit in the Oval office.

The biggest liar was the one in the Oval before Biden, bud. I mean come on lol.

But again, this was about the NY guy. Glad you could turn it into a debate on Biden. But just as I said I would - I denounce these lies as well and Biden should have to answer for each and every one.

At least you admitted the NY congressman is a lying POS. Took a small back and forth to get you there, but you did arrive nonetheless.

Seriously?

If you lied on your resumé to get a job - about damn near every topic - you would be fired.

I would also think if you owned your own business that you would fire someone who you just hired once you found out they lied to you about a plethora of topics during the interview process.

Yet you’re willing to let this dude egregiously lie to people - without stating he should obviously be removed - bc you might agree with his politics.

Way to stand for something, buddy.
Nope, if you really lied on your resume and did it really well, even when caught, they would promote you straight into middle management 😂

Actually no, Trump wasn't the biggest liar to ever sit the oval office. But ok back on topic, yes this guy is a lying SOS and the press completely dropped the ball in vetting him. By claiming he was LGBT he insulated himself from the press digging into his claims.

It’s like a basic cable TV script. How in the world does it take until a month after the election for all of this to come to light?

Because nobody vets political candidates. Somehow the belief is that political parties will police themselves and their candidates ... in spite of all the evidence to the contrary. You would think at the national level that candidates for congress and president should be required to pass a security clearance commensurate with the level of information they will handle ... BEFORE the name goes on the ballot. Doesn't happen. Remember obama never released his records. We are a banana republic.

If the alternative is Hitler or Hitler esque. I would...which is a decent chance if the only option was a dem....if he can be recalled I'm all for it....but use that same energy for our POTUS...he lied for 50 year in politics....so....

Nobody checks. Why do you think it should be up to the media to investigate backgrounds rather than real professionals vetting candidates. Some slob being inducted into the Army is better vetted than political candidates who can do far more damage. We are a banana republic, and we are getting the "representation" we deserve for not demanding accountability.

“My sins here are embellishing my résumé,” Mr. Santos told The New York Post in one of several interviews he gave on Monday.

Mr. Santos admitted to lying about graduating from college and making misleading claims that he worked for Citigroup or Goldman Sachs. He once said he had a family-owned real estate portfolio of 13 properties; on Monday, he admitted he was not a landlord.

That's not "embellishment." That's just being a total liar and fraud. There has to be some element of truth for it to be embellished. If there's no core of truth, it's just a lie.

No, that's trans-work and educational experience. Remember you can be all or whatever you want to be now ... and challenging it is apparently a hate crime. Guess you should back off on who Santos perceives himself to be since your side opened the door.

Imagine relying on the press to vet candidates; that's absurd. Candidates should be vetted not by media clowns - they deserve to be vetted at least by FBI clowns ... and before the name goes on the ballot.

I disagree, 30-40 years ago the press used to do a pretty decent job of vetting candidates. Sure there were biases but nothing like today, identify as LBTQ and you're off limits, run as a dem and you're in the clear, run as an R they are up your azz looking and if you're a black American running as an R they bring a microscope to the colonoscopy.

The FBI should in no way be involved in vetting candidates.

I get your point, but the press are nothing official. They play a role, but they should not be vetting candidates. We should have vetting criteria to be applied to all potential candidates. Standard security vetting, proof that candidates live where they claim, records checks for education and job history (if we are going to make that an issue), proof of citizenship and age requirements, drug testing (if we are going to require that in other jobs), criminal background check, etc. We don't even have a process to verify Constitutionally mandated requirements for office. Everything is done by procedure with every candidate being vetted in the same manner. Pass or fail. It's absurd that someone going into a business would face more scrutiny than a would be politician who makes legislation that business have to follow. The vetting process needs to be done by procedure and enforced.

I just disagree and the main reason I do is that we can't trust the people/agencies that will be tasked with doing the vetting.

So to be clear, but if someone lies during their campaign, they need to be investigated for fraud, campaign finance or removed from office? Is this what the consensus is right now?

Have you guys been following this story? Newly elected GOP congressman from eastern Queens/Nassau County on Long Island. Apparently, no one fact checked the guy during the campaign. Now they're doing that. Claims to be gay, but recently divorced a woman. Claims to be half Jewish, but that too is false. Claims to have gone to a particular college. Nope, that's a lie. Claims to have worked at Citi and Goldman. Nope, both lies. Somehow cut himself a check for $700k for his campaign, but it's not clear where the money is coming from since he's recently been evicted (twice!!!). Also has a criminal charge for passing bad checks in Brazil. Lordy, lordy

There are politicians that are serial liars. It is what they do. They are still elected and some of those end up as presidents. Sounds like the consummate politician to me and the voters bought it hook line and sinker.
