Georgia Tech interested in Bruce Pearl???

And you're choosing not to see that everyone here gives Pearl credit where it's due.

I know you place yourself above those that don't share your view, but it's dead wrong.

I know you occasionally give Pearl credit. I don't even have a problem with many of hatvols posts which probably surprises you.

However, Lofton has zero redeeming value and is a borderline message board troll.

And it works both ways.

I don't disagree with everything he does.

That doesn't change the fact he's an Attention Whoring, Adultering Snake Oil Salesman.

Yet you only choose to post ONLY what you disagree with.

But much of that is because the resurrection job is essentially past. The guy did a phenomenal job of integrating our fanbase and making or program a force in our own Athletic Department and booster community.

Very often the guy that builds or resurrects a company is entirey different than the guy to get to the next level. Different personalities necessary.

Giving up before year 5 is over? On a bit of a different scale, Tom Davis did nothing but win 20+ games every year, get to the tourney, an elite 8, a couple of sweet 16's, yet there were those who wanted to get to the "next level" and he was forced out (in the year he went to the sweet 16).

Iowa has NEVER recovered from that decision. Not saying it would happen at Tennessee, just saying that you need to be careful what you wish for sometimes.

This board seems to have gotten an inordinate number of new members interested in prolonged poop stirring lately.

They don't have any proof. Most of them are incapable of debating a valid point of criticism, so they just resort to the old refrain, "you're right, we need to bring back Wade Houston." It just shows the intellect of the people that believe this way.

This from the guy who tried to convince me Jerry Green's SEC championship was an out right championship. When it comes to bball you need to not be talking about intellect based on your lack thereof.

You wouldn't know an Internet troll if one punched you in the face. Stop throwing that ridiculous label around amongst fellow Vol fans.

And Tom Davis should have been run. My fear is that CBP us CTDv2.

Lol you guys are just angry people and I never mentioned Pearl in my post. Reason I posted this is because before he went and won his championship people said that he was just a regular season coach and he couldnt win the big one but given time he did. I wont say Pearl is the greatest coach ever but he is good and I still dont understand the few of you who dont like him and would like him replaced.

Rusty

Wait a second.........let me clarify for you.....I have been dealing with this bunch for a while now and I think I can help you understand how they think (or dont think)..... the "grass is always greener" bunch doesnt want Pearl fired. No not at all......rather they just post constantly about how he cant win the big games, he sucks at recruiting, cant coach x's and o's, and then talk about how he compares to Jerry Green (a coach who we fired). Normal reasoning would lend you to believe that person would want Pearl replaced. However, when you throw out statistics and level headed reasoning about where Pearl started and where the program is at right now we they run and hide behind the following posts:"we just have higher expectations than you do" or "we pay championship $alary so expect championship results." The fact is he has a phenomenal win loss record since coming here to coach...has built excitement about UT bball that hasnt been seen here since the early 1980's...has done many 1sts for the program (including a #1 ranking (although the grass bunch will tell you it was only for 3 days)... Most important: he has brought this program to a place of stability that since his arrival has become recognized as a top ten contender year in and year out....without that consistency you will never get the recruits in here to compete for a national championship. Bottom line: The "grass bunch" are UT fans they just are (1) impatient and (2) unrealistic.

Who knew about all of that allsome? The bluebloods should be calling soon, no?

At the time, part of me thought it was a good move. Some loved the move, others hated it.

Right now it's not looking like a good decision.

The styles between the two are way too different for him to be CTD2.

The styles started out exactly alike. Pearl had been forced away from it of late, but is itching to get back to it.

Iowa was right to move like they did, but have bungled since and haven't made the commitment to basketball that we have.

I just have never seen their styles as being anywhere near the same. I need to leave for now but can resume that discussion another day.

Yes, Iowa has really dropped the ball since his departure, no doubt. You know things are bad when the mens and womens basketball teams share the same court and have to schedule their practices around each other. A new practice facility is finally being built but there's a long way to go before things start looking up again.

This from the guy who tried to convince me Jerry Green's SEC championship was an out right championship. When it comes to bball you need to not be talking about intellect based on your lack thereof.

From the guy that thinks:
* General Neyland played for Bama
* Did not know that Final 4 participants win a Regional Championship
* Thinks the only coaching candidate to replace Pearl is Buzz

Sustained Personal Attack - The standard last resort of those who run short of reasoned arguments.

I missed your righteous indignation.

......They are just so ignorant and unrealistic it kills me.

… Be true to yourself even if it is an ignorant argument.

…I am sick of cry babies like yourself….

Actually you tried that and your the idiot....... .

Lesson #1: For those of you studying the "grass is always greener bunch":

This is a prime example of the back and forth nature of the "grass bunch". The "grass bunch" when faced with statistics such as Pearl's win / loss record or some other pro-Pearl statistic is thrown there way they are quick to say they only want improvement...not for CBP to be replaced. However, take this "grass bunch" member's post: He states he believes the guy that ressurects the program isnt the same guy that takes them to the next level. So as you can see this post is obviously not meant as an endorsement to get rid of Pearl. The reason why you ask??? Its simple because he used the words "very often" at the front of his post. This is what you call cya language or not taking a stand that cant be backed up by logical thinking.

Lesson #2 on the Grass is always greener bunch:

When faced with stats such as CBP Wins/Losses some members revert to idiotic lies to try and discredit logical thinking individuals. Some such as the case with this subject, who lacks any credible argument, has zero original ideas related to the bball program and strictly feed off the other GIAGB members.
