Why? Washington is in and barring a complete meltdown so is Michigan. That’s 2 teams in.

Now you have Bama, UGA, and Texas with one loss. Texas beat Bama @ Bama, Bama beat UGA. Are you saying a non conference 1-loss UGA still gets in? Does Bama get in too? Do you leave out Texas for UGA?

That is not even considering you could have an undefeated conference champion FSU out there as well.

People saying UGA gets in no matter what are making zero sense.

I don’t care if Bama beats GA by 20. If Bama gets in over Texas under any circumstance then the committee is a joke and has no credibility. If that happens, I never want to hear about head to head competition again. They ripped Bama a new one at Tuscaloosa and it really wasn’t close.

Plus resume has to matter, not just who people think is the best team. Otherwise why play the games. To ignore resume and pick based off who is likely the best is just power ranking.

Because every other P5 champ had 2+ losses. This isn’t hard. 2 loss Clemson, 3 loss Utah, 3 loss KState, or 2 loss Bama weren’t more deserving than 1 loss TCU or OSU. The only time conference champ losers or non-game participants get in the playoffs is with 1 loss and the other conference champs have 2+ losses.

There would be zero incentive to ever schedule a good team out of conference if the results mean nothing.

Yep and a lot of folks overlook the factor of SEC fatigue. There are tons of people (including some on the committee) who I guarantee you are sick of seeing the SEC dominate. Given an excuse, I think they will do all they can to snub the SEC. I see no way the SEC gets two in.

The SEC won’t be left out guys no way not happening. I’m no Bama or Georgia fan but both of them could beat Texas, Michigan, Washington and FSU . And Alabama is a totally different and much improved team than when Texas beat them in September they would beat Texas right now.

If they do, no one should pay attention to rankings or regular season games or the committee ever again. It would be a farce. Fortunately they’ll be moving to a 12 team playoff and that should sort things out. Hard to leave out really deserving teams from that scenario.
