Get behind Worley

agreed. I think everyone has assumed that we would come out of the gate with a gunslinger at the helm in a brand new offense ..with new starting receivers . Yes the last regime did such an awesome job developing talent , that was a safe assumption ( sarcasm). Most probably assume that there is a better option available.

It will take time to develop a new QB and receiver core! Thank goodness we are fielding a defense and have learned to run the ball. Worley will arrive later in the season.

It's funny, last year we had a gunslinger. Vol Nation hated him because he was immature, wreckless and forced too many throws.

Face it, as a fan base we're a bunch of Jack-Waggons. We don't deserve these kids.

Worley was awful in the first half. In the 2nd half, he was solid. We marched down the field and got 3 TD's under his lead in the 2nd half. He played very well then, minus the INT.

I thought that the defence was turning the ball over for short distance drives that it caused the offense to not get into it rhythm. In the second half I think that Coach Jones had a conversation with the OL to tell them to get their butts going. Blocking was munch improved and the run game picked up and Worley was able to throw better.

No.

I can't do it after what I saw today.

If he's the best we have, pray for our defense

Just got home from the game. I fully support Worley if he doesn't improve soon he will not make it. He is consistently late on throws. Always throws behind a receiver. Not bashing him just the facts he must improve fast.

I don't get some of you supposed fans. I've been an active participant on Vol message boards for several years now and there always seems to be one common thread linking you all from year to year:the guy under center for the Big Orange is never good enough for you. From Claussen to Ainge to Sims to Bray and now Worley there's just no end to the hate from Vol Nstion.

So we don't have RG3 or Tim Tebow (college version). We've got some good kids willing to suit up and take the field for the Vols. As long as they're playing hard, they deserve respect and support from the fans even when they're not perfect.

Get behind Worley. Coach Jones picked him as the starter. He's going to start. Maybe some love from the fan base might just give the kid an extra boost of confidence going into hell at Oregon then Florida. If you can't manage that, at least STFU for a week or two so you're not damaging the kid's confidence & hurting the team.
I don't care how long you've been a participant. The QB sucks

I would like to see Peterman with the 1s. Worley has a terrible arm, but he has managed the game decently thus far. If Peterman isnt ready then he isnt ready. Worley will never be all pro, thats for certain.

He played average at best against AUSTIN PEAY.

I know he didn't LOOK GOOD, or I should say I heard that, because I only listened on the radio, but he was 11/13 against Austin Peay

At which, I can only LMAO at you.

Good gawd, some of you should just stick your head in the oven and get it over with, and quit annoying the sh-t of me

Bray was good enough.for me......defense won the game today....Worley hindered the offense.

I hope he gets better but I dont like our chances

That - and far worse was said about Matt Simms, and believe it or not, he is on an NFL roster. And I know he's third or fourth string, but it's the exact slot that Ainge was in.

That goes to show that having a bad arm is just as bad has having a bad head.

Traditionally, ever since Ainge, Vol fans have been extremely impatient with QBs. Impatient I say, because it takes time for a passing offense to gell.

This year, we have very inexperienced WRs AND a QB seeing his first significant playing time in two years, and I am not sure I would count anything that happened in 2011 under Dooley.

Having said that, he has looked bad at times, but I can attribute that to jitters and lack of PT with this set of WRs, and hope that he improves.

He DID improve in the second half, and that's hopeful. How well he plays going forward remains to be seen, but I haven't given up on him completely yet.

And here's a thought...based on what I have seen, I don't think Peterman is any better so far.

If Worley continues to improve, I am okay with him, if not let's find someone who can play.

But some of you seem to think you are NFL scouts...lmao! And also smh....

"Ah down't thank that boy can throw". "Cause ah sayes so-ah!"

Right.....:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Sorry, I trust Coach Jones more than any of the so-called "experts" on a message board. It kills me how many NFL scouts we have on this site...based on what, 20 plays at the start of the season.

OMFG

Appears to me that Worley's problems lie more so in his foot work than his arm strength. Whenever he has to set his feet he tends to throw off his back foot.

I think if he steps into his passes more that he will be an ok QB for us this year. The run game is going to be our bread and butter

That's the conclusion you've come to based on your many years of experience studying the game, throwing mechanics, footwork, defensive reads etc... and you still somehow found the time to keep the deep fryer going at Wendy's? Damned impressive sir.

my bad  the comparison was in my head

I think most fans just do not remember just how bad JC was. Until he was coached up in the second half of the season by Lame Kiffin, he was the worst QB in Vol history.

Nice recovery though once coached well.

Was just listening to College Gameday radio and a post game interview with CBJ. As he addressed Justin Worley as the topic, he said he believes Worley is in" that maturation process" all young QB's go through.

It's easy to be cynical from a fans perspective, but for some reason, I just believe Coach Jones. He's a helluva smart
Coach and obviously see's something we do not.

I hope Worley takes that turn in this "maturation process" sooner than later. If he does...watch out!

Worley does fine on the short, high percentage passes, as this was his bread and butter in high school. Long balls he floats. He will throw more picks, if he insists on taking shots down field.
