Ghosts..... Have you ever seen them?

Tux, for you, is this a passion, hobby, great interest, obsession, career path, etc.? Just curious. For the record, I don't know if they are or they aren't. But, I consider alternative options, as well.

You say that ghosts do not exist because we can't prove it, then you obviously do not believe in God's existence.

No, I said ghosts don't exist because the concept is internally contradictory. Also why I reject some conceptions of God.

What I've gathered is you are the most skeptical form of deist, in the sense that you believe if God does exist (and you don't commit one way or the other) he's never actually done anything.

Negative, I don't believe God has intervened in nature, if God exists. That's distinct from saying I believe he hasn't done anything in nature.

We have some folks who plan on playing party poopers. They try their hardest to ruin a topic and then freeze up when their beliefs are challenged.

When you present a challenge there will be a response. So far all you've said is that if I believe in a supernatural deity then I must also believe in ghosts. Your premise is silly and doesn't warrant a response.

Let's get this back on topic guys. No need to keep insulting each other. :hi:

Has anyone heard of the legend of Bethbirei church?

My girlfriend has become obsessed with this Long Island Medium show. Some of the stuff is pretty convincing but I'm still a skeptic. Thoughts?

Eh. Can't get into it. My wife has become addicted to it. I'm like you, I'm just too skeptical and I'm curious how convincing they could be without me thinking it's just actors/actresses playing a part.

Ironically, however, I love Ghost Adventures.

Yep. I told my girlfriend the only way id believe is if she did a reading on me that blew my mind. Turns out there's like a 3 year waiting list for private readings. So that's not happening.

Haha actually one of the reasons I plan on marrying her is because she's the first girl I've ever dated who is actually smarter than me. I think women just get caught up in the emotions of that show.

You actually tried to schedule a reading. You guys were meant for each other. Your little-head's emotions > your big-head's brains.

Ghost Adventures is a good show.

Yes. I have known of the legend of Bethbirei Church.

Among the legends are:

* A Bible that sits in the church that cannot be moved (this is a rather generic legend told about various churches).

* Tombstones that give off a bizarre green glow when struck by moonlight.

* Strange figures that can be seen in the windows of the church, looking out at visitors.

* A giant, man-like creature that roams the woods around the church.

* Strange emotions affecting visitors, ranging from terror to sadness, from anger to unwelcomeness.

Have you happened to visit? Seems like an intriguing haunt.

I have not visited. I would not mind a day trip to see it. Maybe on my next trip through that way, I will stop by.

Just my county alone(Sumner) is full of some of the oldest and best ghost stories in the entire south.
