First recruiting class? Was he selling insurance in Missouri? Good coaches that change jobs bring the players that fit their style they were recruiting with them. This whole argument of Martin having to "build" recruiting classes should be troubling for UT fans. He should be sending studs a letter from UT rather than Mizz St.

Not sure how I missed this the first time around, but I love the implicature that UT and Missouri State should be recruiting the same caliber player. Possibly the most ridiculous thing I've read today.

Like I said, the new fans are the big Martin fans. They all migrate to Pearl comparisons - they love to bring Pearl into conversations to support their hero for some reason. Your bashing from a talent perspective should be at Green. He did less with more than anybody in the history of UT.
this is one thing i will agree with you on......green doing less with more, about like bobby cox

It continuously amazes me the few that will constantly argue just to argue. I mean really, arguing who's better between Ramar Smith and Golden? One, I hope can stay in front of small guards and keep his head on his shoulders at the end of close games and the other pissed away NBA tallent after his freshman year because of drugs after he was picked first team all SEC freshman team. I mean who really cares.
Ramar was a pretty stupid gamble on Pearl's part. We really dodged a bullet as to how his career ended. Could've been worse.

Nice try. Quoting golden's best season and Smith's worst? Point is they shot the same fg percentage. Tnorange said smith was worst shooting guard he'd ever seen. Don't make it difficult.

In the context of the statement by bto they are.436 to .439 field goal percentage. Pretty much a ditto.

Because one shot almost all layups...

Chris lofton career fg average was close to those numbers, so Ramar Smith was as good a shooting guard as Chris Lofton in your mind?

I meant to just point out the guards that where fit in CBP's run and gun offense during Pearl's first 3 years. I did say "shooting". I'm shocked that you didn't correct me on Ramar or even CJ being a "shooting" guard. How in world did you miss that? Must be slipping. Both played the "point". So, since he wasn't a "shooting" guard then how can he be the worst that you have seen? Hmmmm.... With the ball in his hand he was one of the fastest in the league. He was pretty darn good his fresh year. Could have gone as far as he wanted to if he stayed off the drugs.

I took it as you calling him a shooting....guard. Not the position SG, but a guard who shoots, thought you were categorizing it as one, that's how it sounded. I figured you knew cj Watson and ramar were PG's and that Lofon and Jajuan were SG....so when you said we had good shooting guards, that's usually a phrase used to credit both guard positions as being good shooters....something Ramar absolutely was not.

Unless of course we are talking about a different kind of shooting, ramar would be the best out of that crew.

Actually now that I look back, josh tabb and jajuan smith were both better shooters than Chris lofton.

We're rewriting UT basketball history books here, keep it up guys.

Screw UT history, we're rewriting NCAA history...

By this theory there's a whole list of guys, headed by none other than Ramar Smith, who were better shooters than J.J. Redick. He was only a career 43% fg shooter, dudes basically a mediocre shooter at best, what was with all the hype?

Great. Another internet tough guy.

Any word on the Izzo development?

What development? The fact we should have hired a proven coach with tournament experience instead of a mid-major coach that teaches tie tying classes?

You and your cronies keep brining up Izzo and I'm laughing. You support hiring a no-name over going to the bank to hire a proven winner. I am too proud of the program we have to lose at home to Austin Peay and MTSU. You're all rah rah over the $1 million option that is a question mark. I'm talking about bringing in the $4 million man and winning, no questions asked.
