Tom Izzo's first year at Michigan State he was 16-16 losing in the NIT with regular season losses to Santa Clara, Detroit Mercy, and Central Michigan. How dare they keep that no name without hiring a proven winner to take his place.

Cuonzo sucks.

Worst coach ever. He couldn't even win the SEC or reach the Final Four in his first season. AND he's only signed 2 five-stars. Seriously, ANY other coach in the country could have done better than Kwaunzhoe.

Not to menion he was a long time assistant, never a head coach.

What development? The fact we should have hired a proven coach with tournament experience instead of a mid-major coach that teaches tie tying classes?

You and your cronies keep brining up Izzo and I'm laughing. You support hiring a no-name over going to the bank to hire a proven winner. I am too proud of the program we have to lose at home to Austin Peay and MTSU. You're all rah rah over the $1 million option that is a question mark. I'm talking about bringing in the $4 million man and winning, no questions asked.

And everyone else is laughing at your ridiculous agenda towards Cuonzo Martin. Give your tired act up. It is absolutely stupid...

UT IE 95 doesn't believe in hiring guys that aren't proven, so he wouldn't have heed Izzo back then either. He believes in hiring only proven coaches who have made final fours and are at a top 10 program...

His list would've looked like...coach k, Izzo, Roy Williams, and cal. If none took the job...then go after Izzo all over again. For some reason he actually thinks our program would be attractive to one of those guys, and that their respective schools wouldn't match our offer.

thats cause he thinks we are by god tennessee and any coach worth his salt should be standing in line to come here.

ok guys, looking at martins resume vs pearls at the time they were hired, is there much difference?

Pearl had some substantial success in D-II. In a vacuum of the respective days each coach was hired, Pearl was definitely a better hire. However, the risk of hiring Martin is paying off so far, and most people, including myself, think this hire will continue to pay off for us.

Martins ceiling for success is still unknown. He's a great hire at 41 years young. Is there a younger coach in the SEC right now?

I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're trolling now, and you're really not that dumb. No way can you be serious.

Do you think landing Stokes, Hubbs, and possibly Nichols all in his first two years is a fluke?

Paying the bucks for a high dollar hire who can bring his recruiting class with him is no guarantee of success.
Ask Oklahoma.
And I'll take any wager against us finishing better than Okie this year.

Stokes, frankly, yes was a fluke based on his unique situation. Talk to me in a year when Hubbs is actually on campus.

Lmao...ok so now you're predicting hubbs end up somewhere else...awesome!

And of course you give ZERO credit for landing stokes...you realize there were other programs with open spots right?

I'm not predicting anything. It's a season away before he is a freshman in the SEC.

Martin did great in getting Stokes, but it didn't hurt that he had a distinct advantage over his competition based on a combination of fluke circumstances.

So what? He pulled him in one way or the other. Stokes was wearing ORANGE last year. That's good enough for me. That's all recruiting ever is.

So what where you implying then by saying talk to me when hubbs is on campus?

What was the distinct advantage he had over Florida and Arkansas?

Great. Another internet tough guy.

Why would someone have to be an internet tough guy to call you a dumbarse? The fact that you won't admit how amazingly knee-jerk this thread was is enough evidence for anyone to draw the same conclusion about you.

Or are you saying he wouldn't call you that face-to-face? If he won't, I will. I sit in VV row 4. Come on over and I will have our whole section saying it to you. What else would any informed sports fan think about you after starting such an unbelievably ignorant thread

Good grief.

The guy is saying Martin is killing it his first two years with Hubbs as an example. Hubbs is a year away from showing up.

Guaranteed immediate playing time.

Uhm and Arkansas didn't offer that, seriously?

Or for that matter Florida?

Really showing your basketball knowledge off huh?
