Yeah he did, with juniors and seniors recruited by Chip Kelly, check his year 4 at both schools! You seem to subscribe to the theory that saying something makes it so. Otherwise you wouldn't make a statement like Heupel has done more than Jones. Jones is a bad coach - but he still won the MAC twice and the Big East once. Winning the AAC once is less of an accomplishment, significantly less, than winning the MAC once, much less winning the MAC twice and the Big East once.
It really isn't possible to distort the truth more than you did above. You might as well have said down is up and night is day.
Al Davis was know as the biggest idiot to ever own an NFL team. Nowadays they'd have voted him out and sold his team to someone they approved of. I'm sure Kiffin had problems as the first child to get a head coaching job in the NFL, but Davis was a psycho! I don't think its fair to act like he's the same guy he was at the Raiders.Even Al Davis went out of his way and held a special press conference regarding Lane Kiffin.
However, I do think Lane has matured since then and his time with Saban really did help. His stint at Florida Atlantic also helped. I still believe that was the perfect job for him and should have stayed.
And they already fired him as the scapegoat when he was QB coach! Don't see him going back to be burned again. Stoops, his former hero coach fired him. He was essentially burned by his alma mater!Make no mistake, his dream job is Oklahoma because that’s where he played and also coached some. While the probability of Riley leaving is less than 5%, don’t think that Heupel wouldn’t jump at the job if offered. I wouldn’t blame him either. It’s his Alma mater
You think demanding proof of a conversation from a year ago is on another plane of intellectual discourse? We’re down to this.

I’ll give you one thing - you’re consistent in your nonsense.Butch Jones almost beat Bama once too. And didn’t require a miracle to do it. Lane screwed up the end of that game. And went 7-6 so he basically was Dooley and didn’t accomplish as much as Butch here
You do understand that fifteen top athletes is not the same as twenty-five? Or do you?Because it's irrelevant. It didn't affect recruiting at all, as he still pulled top 5 classes each of his first 2 seasons and pulled a top 10 class his 3rd season. USC recruits itself. So his failures at USC were completely on him, and not from a mess left over from Carroll.
You typed several words without a trace of intelligible thought - congratulations on being a champion of prevarication and nonsense.Kiffin took over a Vols team that was very talented at every position except QB, highlighted by an All American and Heisman candidate on defense in Eric Berry. We lost to a crappy UCLA team at home and got completely blown out by Ole Miss.
If you're bringing up FAU to try and prove a point, you've already lost.
Maybe it’s because unlike you, our brains function in harmony with our eyes and we can see he’s a talented coach. But of course you know more about his coaching ability than Saban. It’s fitting that you have a clown for your avatar.Last time I checked Lane Kiffin was fired by the Raiders...Al Davis warned our AD not to hire him...nobody else wanted him....we hired him...he bolted at the first chance he got to USC...got fired there...Lane has been fired a whole lot. He also wrecked our program. So why you clowns want him back here makes as much sense as USC hiring him back as their next HC.
Butch Jones interviewed for lots of jobs…Brady Home interviewed for jobs…Rich Rodriguez interviewed for jobs…Ed Orgeron fired from Ole Miss interviewed for jobs…fired coaches interview for jobs all the time SERIOUS CANDIDATE? Says who? Clemson’s message board posters ?No or else wanted him? He already interviewed with Syracuse and Clemson, and was a serious candidate at Washington.
Who’s being defensive? I don’t give a damn about Lane Kiffin one way or the other. I’m just correcting your BS saying that he wasn’t a serious candidate for other jobs. And I’m laughing at you thinking that athletic directors are just going to waste their time and money interviewing coaches who they don’t consider serous candidates.Butch Jones interviewed for lots of jobs…Brady Home interviewed for jobs…Rich Rodriguez interviewed for jobs…Ed Orgeron fired from Ole Miss interviewed for jobs…fired coaches interview for jobs all the time SERIOUS CANDIDATE? I have never seen so many so defensive over a guy that we opened our arms up to and accepted…only to put us in this situation we have been in now since 2010. It is like some of you suffer from battered wife syndrome. Kiffin is a great coach even if he used us as a mud stomped WELCOME mat to become what he is today…he’s grown up a lot I mean most adult grown men in their 30’s making millions are immature, can’t stay committed longer than a year, & wreck less with others lives…he has tweeted about us in the past so he must miss us…I mean he named his kid Knox even though he set this program back 10 years…he didn’t want to run the score up on us as Bama’s OC but we deserved it anyway for being upset he wrecked our program…

Another case for Battered Wife Syndrome. I lived in Long Beach, Ca. for nearly 16 years….don’t know a single Trojan fan that I’m friends wanting him back.Maybe it’s because unlike you, our brains function in harmony with our eyes and we can see he’s a talented coach. But of course you know more about his coaching ability than Saban. It’s fitting that you have a clown for your avatar.
I’m laughing at you thinking they don’t. Prime example…Brian Kelly in his prime on fire at Cincinnati for Lane Kiffin fired for losing big in Oakland.Who’s being defensive? I don’t know what this is supposed to mean. Are you saying that Mike Hamilton interviewed Kelly without considering him a serious candidate? Just because someone else gets hired doesn’t mean that the other candidates interviewed weren’t under serious consideration for the job. I think Kelly was a pretty serious candidate for the job. Hell Dennis Dodd sent this board into a frenzy one night in November 2008 when he wrote that the job was basically Brian Kelly’s to turn down.I’m laughing at you thinking they don’t. Prime example…Brian Kelly in his prime on fire at Cincinnati for Lane Kiffin fired for losing big in Oakland.
