Good thing Tennessee didn’t hire Lane!

Went straight to the top and then the top told his folks who of course told YOU? Why would I doubt? As long as you’re brilliant enough to believe this bullshizz why do you need company? My lower level brain smells bs and doesn’t argue with his nose. Lots of good options. 😎
Yeah I’ve known one of his parents for years. I’m a regular A-lister, I guess.

The Raiders wouldn’t have him back.
USC wouldn’t have him back.
Nick Saban wouldn’t have him back.
Layla wouldn’t have him back.
The only people who have been there, done that with Lane Kiffin who want him back is Volnation.

We should definitely model our decision making process after USC.

They ever exaggerate or talk out their azz in that timeframe? Or would you recognize it in others?

No, I don't think so. There is a difference between TN and Ole Miss in terms of prestige. TN has all the intangibles that any elite program (Bama, Michigan, USC, Texas, etc) have that separate the elite programs from the rest. He is smart enough to know if he has it rolling at TN then there is no reason you need to leave. Though our admin doesn't seem to believe or support that notion and now seem determined to literally tear it down brick by brick..
You're right but Ole Miss does have some tradition, albeit from long ago.

People can always blame the administration, but in reality the administration has no responsibility for what goes on during game day. Our problems initially began when Fulmer thought Randy Sanders was ready to be OC. He could have plucked a number of great offensive minds to join his staff, but became arrogant about his abilities as a head coach. One of the many reasons no program of significance wanted him anywhere near their program when he was relieved of his duties here

Ole Miss will never be an Alabama, Georgia, TN, Auburn level program consistently. Maybe TV money changes things. I just don't see it happening.

I don't disagree there. There are just certain things, imo, that are hallowed ground and you don't change. Neyland need infrastructure improvements for sure. The exterior aesthetic improvements they've done are nice. We don't need corporate bars in the upper decks. We don't need it to feel like a pro stadium, it's a college stadium. If TN wins they could put 110k in there regularly. We also don't need gimmicks and all that. Just win baby, cause TN has everything else it needs already.

On Phil.. I dunno. Randy was a respected young coach. We had a great offense in 2001. I agree ultimately he should have went and got an elite OC at some point and handed off the reigns though. Was all he was really missing. He didn't adapt with the times though. Gets a lot of coaches.

The neat thing about the internet is that when people lie shamelessly, counting on no one to call them out for it, all it takes to prove such is a couple minutes of research.

FAU went 3-9 the year before Kiffin got there. In his first season, they went 11-3 and won the conference. They went 5-7 his second season, and then in his third and final season they went 10-3 and won the conference again.

No amount of truth distortion can ever make leaving a team at 10-3 "worse" than 3-9. Stop lying.

Josh Heupel went 12-1 his first season at UCF, after they had gone undefeated the previous season under Scott Frost. His second season they went 10-3, and his third season they went 6-4. So Heupel demonstrably, inarguably left UCF worse than he found them. Stop lying.

Come back on here in three years, or even two, and we'll see how much of a loser Kiffin is. Somehow I have a feeling you'll be nowhere to be found when this topic is broached again at that juncture.
Please present a list of Kiffin’s 10 biggest wins as a HC

Tennessee’s pride has become laughable. Ole Miss sure is enjoyable to watch!!! Wonder how Tennessee would look right now if they’d just swallowed their pride and gone after him when they could have. Tennessee will unfortunately struggle for many more years.

He won't be there long. He won't be anywhere long. Lane's all about Lane and cares nothing for anyone else or any program. He'll fail and move on.

We had a great offense, at times, in 2001 because we had a butt load of NFL caliber players on that side of 5he ball. And yes, Randy was a respected young coach, but not as an OC. To this day he hasn't garnered a top level OC job

Was tutored by Cutcliffe, from my 20,000ft view I can understand the decision. Hindsight makes it clear he should have hired someone else. He did just kick the crap out of a D1 team with ETSU though.

I don't. Without a pick six and two bomb passes in the NC game, our offense looked terrible. During the season, Fulmer didn't mess with Cut, but he apparently gave Randy a conservative set of parameters. It barely worked.

Phil played that game conservative for sure. Once up he didn't need to be aggressive with our D vs Outzen. They had no real chance. Phil was a ball control guy, learned from Major's and never adapted. I guess you could say ego did him in cause he wasn't willing to hire an innovative OC and give up the reigns. I think he tried with Clawson.

He definitely fell short of some big Butch milestones.
Worst season in school history.
Only one conference win without Josh Dobbs.
Five seasons and zero wins over SEC-West opponents.
Losing to all seven SEC East teams and every SEC West team he has faced.
.500 against Vanderbilt.
You are toooo blind to see that Butch Jones era is the by product of Lane Kiffin. If Kiffin stays he recruits great...coaches players up with that awesome staff he had...and most likely starts out coaching all SEC East coaches besides Meyer. But he ran away...left his cancer...no one of value would touch this job except for Derek Dooley whom Will Muschamp recommended to Hart after he said no thanks.

Lane Kiffin helped achieve each of those milestones by simply running away after one year.

Saban respected Kiffin so much as a coach that he couldn’t stop yelling at him while red faced crazy.
Edited what you quoted. They won in 2015 with him as an OC. Defense was pretty stellar.
