Good thing Tennessee didn’t hire Lane!

Yea, because what I said is so dumb. Lane would have come back and Tennessee football would have at least been entertaining again. Maybe he would have left again and maybe not but it would have at least been entertaining. I know most of you live in East Tennessee and are surrounded by other Tennessee fans. Trust me when I tell you no one outside of East Tennessee has any respect for Tennessee football, to the point where it’s not even an afterthought. When I tell people I’m a Tennessee fan they don’t even bother to talk trash anymore and haven’t in years. It’s pathetic

I live within an hour of Knoxville and see more b@%@ , gawga and kty tags than vols

I seriously doubt he would have came back even if offered. I dont know him personally and all I ever heard were internet rumors that he had an interest.
We beat BG, were supposed to win.
We lost to Pitt, were supposed to lose.
We beat TT, were supposed to win.
If had played those 3 last year the results may have been the same but I have no doubt the scores would have been much different. Put up 56 points today so we need to talk about what might have been. Guess ole Lane would have put up 100.

We definitely could have and probably should have beat Pitt but it felt like a step in the right direction competing til the end and not giving up.
I'm not sure we were supposed to lose to a mediocre Pitt team at Neyland.

I know right.

What could go wrong by hiring Lane?

Not counting what already went wrong when he was hired the 1st time.
What went wrong the first time we hired him? He left for what he thought was a better job since he was from there. I’m sure his wife wanted to move back there as well.

Now matured, Lane will prove to be a very good head coach. Most fail to realize he is just now the age most coaches get their first HC gig. He is a young coach still. If he finds consistent success at Ole Miss it wouldn't surprise me to see Bama hire him when Saban eventually retires. And considering he took over a crap Ole Miss team and in year 2 his QB looks to be a legit Heisman contender... I'd say he will find success. Lane is a good coach, regardless what someone thinks about him as a person.
So he would have left us in round 2 for Bama?

Tennessee’s pride has become laughable. Ole Miss sure is enjoyable to watch!!! Wonder how Tennessee would look right now if they’d just swallowed their pride and gone after him when they could have. Tennessee will unfortunately struggle for many more years.

So, your wife leaves you for your cousin and when they are done, she wants to come back to you. Are you gonna take her back?????

No doubt Lane would’ve come back in 2017 after we fired Butch that was the time to hire him before he went to Florida Atlantic. We would be rolling now and in top echelon of the SEC.

Unfortunately, the people in charge don’t have winning as priority #1. I doubt it even cracks the top 5, at this point.

Why it is assumed he would’ve taken the job?

. No it doesn’t with our administration they haven’t cared about winning since 2008. Just as long as our gullible fans still pack Neyland and spend their hard earned money on the rising ticket prices every year to watch a garbage product on the field then they are satisfied to keep serving us Doo Doo.

Lane is a good coach, no one will argue that. Reality is he made a lot of enemies and no one in "the circle" would allow that to happen again. We can grip all we want but until we start writing checks with 7+ zeros it won't matter.

Writing off CJH at this point is pretty foolish though. I truly think people feel this roster is loaded with talent and we have some but losing 30 players to transfer portal, many at positions of need, is devastating. This team is showing heart and will improve but as players get hurt and dinged up we simply don't have studs to replace them. Our QB situation is tough because we have good kids but need to mesh all three together to have the talent to overcome our deficits. In other words if Milton had Hookers Accuracy we would be 3-0 and pretty pumped for UF.

Patience is hard to have after a decade of stinking the place up but this whole CJH isn't the guy after three games is folly.....

Why don’t you go worship lanes jock at ole miss so we don’t have to read crap like this.

I would of been fine if they’d hired him,
But he ain’t done nothing special there yet.
He inherited more talent than We had here, he’s got a special QB that makes him look real good, and I have no reason to think CJH can’t do as good here
