After seeing the patchwork of last years recruiting class by Kiffin I can't see how anyone could be worried.

Good point. We didnt even have a staff in place at this time last year and still managed a top ten class with the number one player in the country.

Luc was one of the top 3 recruits not just to us, but to the UT staff. Urban played us with Elam and now we played ourselves with Luc. Disrespecting Gran also leaves us with no one "good" in terms of a non cussing, non carousing angel who will tell Marlon Brown's grandma he will get her grandson to church with him.

Losing Wilson will not hurt. It does suck to pay someone to be on staff and know that most of the work that we paid for recruiting wise will instead go to LSU. We helped him grow his already considerable connections in LA and MS and now he will target for a rival school all the players we really wanted from that state. I say it will not hurt because I trust LWS and we will have someone better in his place.

You will not get someone better than Gran without paying a lot more money. If we were going to pay more money, we should have paid it to Gran IMO.

Finally, those who are angry at people with sources are idiots. If my friend is Lane Kiffin and he thinks that Luc is coming, then I can say with confidence Luc is coming. If Luc changes his mind, it does not mean my source is bogus, it means that a kid changed his mind. That has and will happen in recruiting each and every year.

We still have a great recruiting staff, but we have been on guys who are super questionable academically...We are not Ole Miss, and we should be able to bring in elite guys who can qualify.

We also have a bright future as a program. Losing a guy to his instate school should never shock us, but losing a battle to Auburn for an RB sucks, as does losing a battle to Alabama for a TN boy.

We have turned away enough talent that I am cautiously optimistic, but today definitely hurts...

Reading X made me feel better and then worse.

Better because he is still hearing that we have tons of great guys wanting to come and we are recruiting as if some guys will be asked to decommit so we can bring in better players.

Worse because it appeared he had no clue that Gran was leaving or that Wilson was headed to LSU...

He thought Porter to Memphis was going to help us steal away the players from LSU...anyone think that seems likely now?

Monte is so much better than Chavis and Lane better than Les it is not close, but Frank Wilson was the guy O used to chat up all the HS coaches in LA and now that he is at LSU, he will be using most of the work he did this year to help our rival.

Anyway, X has some interesting insights and I am looking forward to reading his update Monday. He said that Lane had the plane tracking disabled which is awesome if true but seemed unlikely to me.

This board gets over policed sometimes. Not saying any of the mods are doing a bad job, especially not you eric. I think you all do a great job and I know nothing is perfect, but sometimes things are just a little to tight around here. I mean we are all big boys and girls. JMHO

Absolutely. yes, it hurts losing luc, but in the long run give me nelson. Luc will be an impact player from the get go because of his build, but in the long run nelson is smarter and will be as big

as much as i hate to say it you have to do what nick saban has done. it doesn't matter about the car salesman it is the car. Saban is a great coach, and more than likely, he will lost kirby and maybe even mcelwain?, but the train will keep rolling. we win 10 ballgames next year then watch the hell out SEC.

When will the "wolves" be knocking on the door for CEO ???? We prolly can't give him anymore titles or money......a better offer would be a hard sell but a HC position anywhere credible would prolly take away our greatest weapon !

Gran needs a raise and needs to stay right where he is. Gran would be sorely missed and very difficult to replace! He deserves whatever it takes for the job he is doing for us in Fla. To win National Championships’ it costs money and that is simply the bottom line. GO VOLS! ;)

No. Very funny, but he isn't. It's the name and the highlight film that has everyone so goo-goo ga-ga over him. He'll be mired in mediocrity at FSU IMO. He will be good, but not nearly as good as people are making him out to be. He's not that big of a loss, but he is a loss.

This dude told the Gators he was going there on FNL, then he came here and told the coaches here that he was coming here, now he commits to FSU.

You guys can flame all you want, but no one can nail these kids down completely. Every one of us who get information and choose to share it are susceptible to a kid changing his mind. Take the information for what it's worth which is jack spit until the ink is dry on the enrollment forms. But rip me or whoever you want to as much as it takes to get over losing Luc.

It's like Monopoly at McDonalds, you play for the big screen TV, but the most you ever win is a large Coke.

I don't know what that means exactly, but the point is you follow this stuff for the ups and downs -- the roller coaster ride. Strap your belts tight because this dip will not last very long.
