It puts you in a tough spot to essentially couch the problem as "people" and then make reference to those outside the US. If they can nut up so can we. Now that's not me saying (not even a little bit) that cowardice and political expediency isn't a factor in the US. It absolutely is a problem. What I driving at is I'm absolutely disinterested in hearing anyone (that's generic, not aimed at you in particular) try to make the discussion primarily about the one thing in the firearm discussion that is completely without will or volition...which is of course the firearms themselves. YMMV but I see no reason for more people that haven't done anything wrong to bend the knee to more infringement when those who unambiguously act out in the very manner you speak of so derisively can, in the worst cases, be practically coddled.

I was telling him about our conversation about "things going to sh!t" and jokingly asked him if he would sell me a couple of guns in that situation. He said "Hell, I'll give you a couple if we are on the same side".
So I'm good now.

And I'll still get to wear my G I Joe outfit.

1938 and a certain mustachioed fellow introduced their first real gun control.

just like most of the gun laws here in the states gun laws have an incredibly racist history and present. the first state with any real gun control laws outside of their constitution, was South Carolina, after the civil war, for black people. lets not forget the federal government made sure the native americans were all disarmed, I am sure its a coincidence that all the biggest tragedies only happened AFTER they were disarmed. There is a reason Kipling was talking about centralized power and "ordering the guns to kill" in that poem you continue to quote but not understand.

If you’re going to handle one then you really should know how to use one. No way I give you a gun in that very unlikely situation. If I were him and we were legitimately friends I’d drag you to the range and teach you how to not shoot yourself or someone on your “side”
