just like most of the gun laws here in the states gun laws have an incredibly racist history and present. the first state with any real gun control laws outside of their constitution, was South Carolina, after the civil war, for black people. lets not forget the federal government made sure the native americans were all disarmed, I am sure its a coincidence that all the biggest tragedies only happened AFTER they were disarmed. There is a reason Kipling was talking about centralized power and "ordering the guns to kill" in that poem you continue to quote but not understand.

Yep, it's a helluva lot more dangerous to arm someone with no skills or knowledge than to leave them unarmed.

Plus we all know what would happen if things really went to sh^t. His neighbor would take all of his crap and shoot him if he protested.

I've told this story before but I have a guy that lives down the road from me. He's an old hippie, has to be late 60s early 70s now but he's a prepper. Has a basement stuffed full of food and supplies but is avid about his distain for guns, simply won't touch one. I've tried to explain to him that if he keeps telling people about his stash he won't make it 30 minutes if things go to sh^t.

That would be about how long it would take me to put my boots on and get down there......
