Gun control debate (merged)

Yep, I remember when loothervol got such a beat down that he said he would quit posting in this thread.
Odd, I don't.
But what you guys misperceive as a beatdown, is actually just a bunch of flatlanders tickling each other and giggling.
Rather amusing, at least until the incessant giggling becomes annoying.

I can't imagine that working out real well for him. I'm sure he thinks he will be one of the "chosen ones" that the government will protect and shield from the riff raff like us common folk.
Good god you guys have clinical levels of delusion and paranoia.

It's just like the CV19 thread: prove someone a total d-a-, they go away for awhile, then they come back later as if nothing bad been learned, spouting off about masks or boosters or assault rifles or nuclear bombs or whatever.
lol.....It is similar in that some are self delusional when assessing their own posting.

I have never once in my life supported anything that denies a person's right to keep and bear arms.
Except the firearms deemed to dangerous to possess.

And when asked “what then” if removing those too dangerous to possess doesn’t yield the desired results - you have responded “we’ll cross that bridge if we get there”.

I stopped reading after your first 7 words because they are totally wrong and completely unfounded.
It just proves to me that you have processed little, if anything, of what I have said.

I have never once in my life supported anything that denies a person's right to keep and bear arms.
so you are fine with them buying an automatic assault weapon? Or if they had one before the ban went into place they should be allowed to keep it as is with no government hastle? what about people keeping war loot, should those be demilitarized?

what about taking people's gold so that FDR could push his changes?

you have made it clear if it serves the "greater good" you are fine with it. you haven't offered much if anything on defining whose good or whose greater.

So what are you offering now? Are we back to "x rounds in y time," tanks and nuclear bombs, or do you just want the government to disarm us?
x rounds in y minutes (you guys never shut that down in the least)
x purchases in y time
The line between weapons that are legal for the general public to purchase and own, and those that are illegal (mustard gas)
Background checks
Waiting periods
Mental health restrictions

BTW, I'm not going to be debating any of these.

so in other words, you do support the government robbing your neighbors.

This saddens me buddy. I was hoping to receive a top notch level of enlightenment.

x rounds in y minutes -- already in place
x purchases in y time -- stupid, no known benefit

Background checks -- already in place
Waiting periods -- stupid, no known benefit. However, this would be great for tattoos.
Mental health restrictions -- already in place

No. You guys reach some really stupid conclusions. I could lead you down a path which could possibly make you aware of that fact, but it's proven to be mostly futile in the past, and you guys have provided absolutely no reason to think this time would be any different.

The problems is that you lead down a path full of confusion and treachery!

And if these common sense reforms don’t yield the desired result?

What then?
