Gun control debate (merged)

Come and take my guns. I started a thread called,”civil war”, and got blasted for it. Remember?
America is fat and lazy. They won't turn their guns in . Also, that tweet doesn't say anything about taking anything. It says banning. No civil war. Until the lights go out.

Wow, a thought out question for a change?

Okay, what's to keep me from filing the pin once and removing that microstamp? Additionally, even the DOJ states the technology isn't viable yet.

So the questions arise, why have this? Who would be responsible for completing the database? If my gun is stolen, does the serial matter any more? What keeps me from replacing the firing pin with an after market item? And last but not least, would this technology actually help solve crime?
Because that's all against the law.

I've basically been saying this same thing for a while. While outright confiscation even in the form of forced buyback programs could lead to conflict, It would first and foremost be struck down SCOTUS, second, even if it wasn't, people just wouldn't cooperate. Federal agencies are small in number to the armed populace and law enforcement depends greatly on people willing to go along with it. If the feds did something else stupid like financially punishing people then that too could lead to blood shed, but once again, the courts.....and the individual states. States like Texas, Tennessee, Bama, ect would just tell the feds to pound sand and threaten to leave the Union or simply tell the feds that the cannot enforce these laws in these states. That would likely get the new laws tabled.

Bellies would have to get empty, power would have to go out, saving would have to evaporate, ect for a real war here. In the big scope of things, we have a great life here at this time in the U.S. A life of comfort for most.

What some do not realize is what a real armed conflict would mean here if things got really bad. Retirements and SS likely gone in some areas or for everyone. Financial collapse of our entire system; money worthless, even cash. Food truck deliveries to grocery stores (if they aren't already looted and burned down) would be sporadic. Power may be off for weeks or even months at a time, even in the dead of winter. If you live in the cities in particular, famine may be an issue. Brother against brother. If you have extra items that are of survival value if things are really bad, then YOU will become a target of your hungry neighbors. You dining while their child is weak from hunger is going to guarantee you a visit from them. If you cannot help for your own survival purposes then you may get hit and burned out in the night. Survivalists would have to be prepared to shoot people they know to defend what they have. None of this is a pleasant thing to think about.

There are over 20,000 gun laws…….. not a single one ever prevented a person from killing another.

Enforce the current laws to the fullest extent on people who violate them.

BTW, anyone see the ruling of a Federal judge who declared the law banning the possession of machine guns unconstitutional?
are we up to the Wild West 3 now? with all those Covid guns, constitutional carry, and now machine guns? we are really going to stacking bodies now.

weren't a majority of us supposed to be dead already?

There is hardly anyone left, especially in the conservative areas with all the guns.

When TN allowed guns in bars there were supposed to be shootouts in the streets and dead bodies everywhere.

...and now the president can kill us with immunity, too.
It's a dystopian, apocalyptic wasteland out there.

I did but Heller cites some things that would appear to make outright open legalization of fully automatic weapons iffy. OTOH in that same ruling there were observations made where semi-autos, including those "assault" types that make the hoplophobes wet their panties, should be unambiguously protected under the 2A.

I've wondered at times if the restrictions on full auto availability could hold up to closer scrutiny. Such guns are obviously considered legal now as one only need the funds and jumping through the NFA hoops to obtain one. The hitch there is only firearms made prior to '86 are legal. So they're legal...but only these specific date-limited examples. Hmmmm.

Hoplophobes. Nice!

If that opinion holds, I've shot this, among others, and will be one of the first for the venerable MP5:

Nice choice. I would go non-traditional with a FA Kriss Vector. I hear they are unbelievable to shoot pew-pew-pew with the recoil mitigation technology. They wouldn't be cheap though!
