Because cars serve no other purpose.
You don't seem to think through your positions very much.
1. Why don't you take your crazy hypothetical on yourself and imagine living in Somalia.
2. The same people who are "pro-life" are often in favor of guns and the death penalty. "Ridiculous"
I think the better way to express the point would be that a gun, like a car, is as dangerous as the person "driving". Be careless, negligent or malicious with either and people get maimed or killed. Millions of rounds are fired every year, just like many millions of miles are driven, and the overwhelming majority of the time all ends well. Sometimes it doesn't.
In all cases the inanimate object in question played neither the hero or the villain...it did what it was told.
Finally a thoughtful post. A gun is like a car or any other tool. However, not every tool should be legal. Everything should be weighed on its' positives and negatives. The question is whether the positives of guns (fun cool?) outweigh a couple thousand lives a year. BTW cars(because they too are dangerous) have all sorts of restrictions on them.
"Babies" "murderers" Must be nice living in such a world.
I wouldn't mind limits on number of guns, mandatory gun safety classes, and the type of weapons available. Exactly where to draw the line is debatable. I would definitely ban assault rifles.
Normally I don't just call people names but seeings how you've resorted to it to other posters - You are as crazy as they come dude. I think the term is batsh!t crazy.
The death penalty is for murderers (you know, people who have intentionally caused someone to die). If it was up to me the death penalty would include child molesters and rapists too. Abortion kills the same as a gun and what's being killed is a human being.
No one on here is advocating using guns to kill innocent people. Yes, they are dangerous and that is why everyone keeps throwing around "respect".
The existence of people like you depresses me.
1)What does the limit do? Do you take guns away from owners that already have more than the limit?
2)I agree with your second point.
3) I do not own one, and don't discourage anyone from it. Bout all I have on that.
How many guns are too many? How do you regulate how many guns each person has?
What types should be banned? Handguns? Shotguns? Hunting rifles?
The limit would mostly inhibit gangs or wackos. I think it's pretty reasonable. What does anyone need 50 guns for? Whether you take guns away or grandfather existing gun-owners, I'm not sure. Either one I guess.
