Half Of Americans Expect A Second U.S. Civil War Within Years. More Than 40% Agree With The Great Replacement Theory.

Damn near the entire Democratic Party is extremist now. And in all seriousness what is an extremist anyway? There are some things like more gun regulations and bans that I would never compromise on, does that make me an extremist or the ones pushing the 2A end-a-round?

I am not big on more gun bans. We have enough. I am for more stringent background checks. The Republican party is also being overrun by the extremists. More religion in govt etc. This ain't a one sided affair. Neither party has all the answers and there has to be some compromise otherwise we are headed down a dark path. I do believe that there is somebody who can unite us again, though I don't see him or her out there currently.

The only time we have been close to united was WWII and even then there was a lot of squabbling.

It's not surprising people feel this way. The democrat party has brought people to this point and they are doubling down. No "if", "ands" or "buts" about it.

Open borders, going after guns, regulatory policy to increase inflation, supply chain shortages, recruiting issues in the military, crime ridden cities, social experiments, the desecration of our history, etc. They are pitting groups against each other when it's politically expedient. The intentional indoctrination of children using propaganda. The reversal of societal norms.

Minority groups have more opportunities today than ever yet the democrats have convinced them they are going backwards. It's the only way for the party to continue to exist though, they need victims and causes to need them.
There are not open borders, you knew that and purposely wrote the opposite. Going after assault rifles isn’t the same as going after your guns, but you knew that also. Going after assault rifles is like outlawing citizens from owning an operable tank, or a bazooka, or an M60 machine gun, or anything else deemed to be made purposely for warfare.

As for ”regulatory policy to increase inflation”, you show your ignorance on the subject. The rest of your diatribe is likewise and reads like the failed manifesto of a madman.

"The Republican party is also being overrun by the extremists." That's a lie. It's called balance to Bernie, The Squad, the old school guard like Nancy and Biden flip flopping their stance to stoke the division. Can't say the right has been overran by extremist and then believe metropolitan cities ran by democratic leaders are doing it right.

Going after semiautomatic weapons is absolutely coming after my guns.

You're being willfully blind.

We've had a lot of bipartisan effort over the years. We now seem unable to accomplish anything that is bipartisan these days.

how so? Seems the drastic change has been by the left being used as the Trojan horse to policy and cultural transformation by the progressives.

You're going to have to elaborate on that "sentence" because I don't have a clue as to what you mean.

You believe it’ll be the part of states right’s that starts a war rather than the one who wants to dictate from the top down?

If it occurs it’ll be a right wing state attempting to leave and a left wing administration saying no
Some things never change. The last time around it was the CSA states trying to preserve slavery and selling it as a ” State’s rights” issue. This time it is a party working to preserve their future and who is in charge within a changing demographic landscape and selling it as a Patriotism issue.

The last time a bunch of states voted to dump the nation and break off to start a new country where they could keep slavery. This time it is a party willing to do anything to keep power and that includes choosing politics over Nation once again.

If the 1/6 commission does nothing else but dent Trump’s odds at becoming POTUS again it has done this nation a major service, for that man has shown the world he will stop at nothing to retain power and that includes purposely inciting a riot against our Capital and our Democracy by perpetuating his Big Lie.

And the right is a grotesque mirror image.

It's not illegal to own a tank, don't even need a permit to do so. What you are referring to as an assault rifle is nothing more than a semi-automatic rifle and comparing one to an M60 is, well just plain dumb.

They accomplish way more bi-partisan things than you realize, the parties leadership work hand in hand in keeping their seats and stuffing their pockets. What we see is what they want us to see to keep us divided and voting them back into office.

I was speaking of things that would benefit the people. Not pay raises etc.

We probably don't want to hang on to everything this country was founded on, just saying.

Have you paid any attention to the insanity that is being proposed in red states? They are absolutely becoming more draconian, radical, and bigoted. North Carolina has a bill floating around that will charge a woman that receives an abortion with a crime punishable by death. Look at the laws coming out of Florida; university students have to declare their political beliefs to the state. Then you have the "don't say gay" bill, which has already resulted in people being reprimanded and removed because they had a picture with their partner on their desk.

I don't give a **** what Biden's position was about anything 20 years ago. I care about today, and the Republican party is swinging wildly to the regressive and radical. To think otherwise is burying your head in the sand.
I challenge you to actually go and look at what those bills actually say instead of slurping the fear porn. If you did, and had the slightest degree of intellectual honesty, you couldn't walk away thinking they did anything other than lie to you.

The right actually most closely resembles the Clinton era policy wise. Unless you think he was radical right I'm not sure what to say to you. Perhaps it's you and the left that has swung radically.

You cannot own an operable tank, which I clearly stated. You also cannot own an operable cannon, or a military style machine gun, like an M60, nor can you own any weapon deemed manufactured for warfare. Now, a semi automatic assault rifle is the question here, which most (over 65%) of the nation feels should be classified as such since it serves that purpose well but is not needed for any other purpose that a handgun, hunting rifle or shotgun does not already fill. The assault rifle is uniquely suited for killing lots of things very quickly, like kids quite often.

Right now, anybody can buy one of these weapons at a trade show with no background check. Does that sound like a good policy to anyone? Should 18 year old kids who cannot even legally drink be allowed to buy these weapons with almost no background check? Is that a sound policy? We are trying to discuss reasonable and sensible laws to make this country safer, seems to me everybody would be on board with that.
