HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Random question, is Alys Karstark a minor enough character that she warrants being killed off screen? She was in the Godswood with Theon guarding Bran and unless I missed it, was not in the teaser for next week. She is semi-minor I guess but she is the head of House Karstark now.
RIP House Karstark, along with House Mormont.

Wasn’t a good episode period.
It was a masterpiece. Perfect? No. But I would dare say we likely never see anything close to it on TV again unless it's the battle for Kings Landing.

All the people whining about it, I wonder if they whine about every other TV show or movie out there. Do they pick Gladiator apart, Braveheart, Godfather? Hell I remember a scene in Godfather where Sonny was whiffing so bad on his punches in a fight that I could have let it ruin that movie for me, but I chose not to.

Also, there is a user on the Reddit thread of GOT who has increased the brightness and slowed down some of the action scenes. It makes it a bit easier to see what's going on and I suggest you watch them if you're a fan.

The days before DVR’s were pretty good ones. You didn’t have to second guess what you thought you saw...and rewind.

Brienne is as annoying a character as they come. I just don't think she's a very good actress.

I won't be shocked if/when they kill her off. I'll probably be happy.

Huh. She's one of the best actresses/actors on the show. And she's probably one of the few characters who has zero annoying traits. Interesting opinion ya got there.

I liken the phenomenon of a show never being good enough to that of pictures now. How many pictures do we have to take now that we have the tech to see "what's wrong"? Instagram and other social media have destroyed the spontaneity of a picture. My most treasured picture of my grandparents is somewhat blurry, but isn't that a reflection of life in general? Not perfect with blurry memories? I feel similar to the Godfatha, in the sense that you must suspend some belief when you watch movies or TV, because it is fantasy. Dissecting every single moment like we do now only negates how great the movie or show really was in the first place. We watch this stuff to be entertained. So sit back, relax, and just enjoy it for what it is.

Like I said, now is a good spot for you to quit wasting your time on this pathetic farce of a production....just think about all the free time you will have to do whatever it is you do...
Nope, invested too much. Maybe now is a good time for you to be able to handle criticism.

I said the same thing to my wife last night. It was a great episode. I feel the same way about the Sopranos finale. It ended exactly as it should imo, regardless of how much everyone else hated it. You can't please everyone.
Sopranos finale was top notch. That was a quality ending

But it wasn’t too dark or your tv sucked according to most....so why do that

It was a battle AT NIGHT. Too dark? Wtf. Baffoons.

Definitely added to the ambiance and made the viewer feel more engaged. I thought it was perfectly done.

This show has set the bar so high that people are bitching about one of the greatest spectacles do ever air on television or movies.

I'm with you. Love Brienne and Jaime arc. I like Tormund comic relief. She's actually one of my favorites. The scene when she got knighted by Jaime was beautiful.

There are people who are on forums (like this) who talk about this night and day. They study the books and show, and if something doesn't go the way THEY think it should, then they are unhappy. This is one of the best shows ever made and we still have a few more episodes left. I'm savoring every moment we have left.

Well, since I have to watch the series on my iPad away from home, I have at least learned to watch it in a pitch dark room with a blanket over my head. I did this when I watched again on Tuesday, and it worked. Appreciate the suggestions earlier in the week.

Of course it was supposed to be dark, duh. It's just that for some of us, the circumstances in which we watch it made it impossible to follow the story.

For em, I had zero issues with watching the show. I had my bedroom light on, didn’t even have my glasses on, and I still saw everything well.

You know GOT fans are sensitive die-hards when they can't even accept completely valid critiques about visibility. Maybe you saw everything you wanted to see. Cool. I personally would like to know which dragon is which. Hell, I don't even know how many dragons are alive. When the ravens did nothing, I didn't know if I missed what they did, or if they literally did nothing. The darkness helps you to experience what the characters are experiencing. You know what else allows you to experience what the characters are experiencing? The ability to see.

And while we're at it, the battle strategies are ridiculous. Why wait until the last second to light the moat on fire? Why defend Bran's position with archers? Why not send the women and children away days ago? Why not pick a more strategic location for the battle, like Thermopylae. A lot of stuff made no sense.

I liked the episode. I was tense throughout, but there are valid criticisms and the fact that people get so defensive about it makes me want to attack. It's OK that the show isn't perfect, guys.

Helm’s Deep was a night battle we could see. And they love ripping that one off. Also I rewatched the Blackwater episode ( probably the single best episode of the show) night battle that we can see

Helm's Deep is 10x the battle, IMO. And yes, at night and you could see everything. Obviously GOT doesn't have the $ a big budget film like that has.
